Notes for SAMUEL ANDERSON BARKLEY:

He was an Old School Presbyterian and became a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian Church as Orizaba.  He later joined the Ebenezer Associate Reformed Presbyterian Church in 1867.

 

Samuel lived on a farm about 7 miles outside of Salisbury, North Carolina.  He and his brother, John, moved to the Tippah-Union County line in 1839.  An old article from the Tippah County paper said they settled in the Cotton Plant area near the Rainey Plantation.
