Welcome to my console! I work as a 911 operator, and police dispatcher. A fancier term would be "Communications Operator". I worked for a County Sheriff's Office for four years, and I've just recently made a move to a city department within the same county. Time will tell, but I think I'm going to like it... There are many different aspects to 911, and dispatching, so I'll attempt to tell you a little about how I do things.

"911, Use it, don't
abuse it!"
A pet peeve of mine.
If you do not have an emergency, do not call 911. There are non-emergency
lines and administrative lines, please use those if you don't have
an emergency. If you have any doubt, by all means, use 911, better
safe than sorry, but if you KNOW that it's not an emergency, please look
up the non-emergency number. A 911 emergency is for danger to life, limb,
or eyesight. It is not to call and tell me that your neighbors have just
left, and forgotten to water their pet goat. (no, I didn't make this one
up).
