Experience as a Father whom lost his devoted teen son to one Single gun shot. Counseling experience throughout life. Suitable for discussion of loss to children, teens and adults. I do not want one single family to experience the loss and grief I carry each moment of my life due to activity in the street nor in the home, nor on the range.. Education: LaSalle College 1969 Former Firearm Instructor National Rifle Association Non-affiliated Minister Ready - 24/7 Travel: Any where in Delaware/ Maryland Fee: None Outline (Speeches) Presentation of Children and Forearms 1. No matter how mature, firearms and children (term applies to anyone under 21 living with your) do not mix. 2. How about when trained profusely, they still do not mix, children are still in an awkward developmental stage both physically and mentally. (don't you have a child that bumps into doorways, walls just accidentally; but look much closer their speed and always in a hurry may contribute to fatalities with firearms. For one attention has only to be distracted for a millionth of a second for anyone to be hurt while firearms are in the home. FIREARMS AND CHILDREN SIMPLY DO NOT MIX! 3. What may happen, death or severe injury. This is a real event that would cause you suffering and loss, and takes a life of someone , depriving them of a wonderful life, and it is your fault regardless, you as a parent will forever blame yourself. A) When making a decision to own a firearm or firearms, let it be at a time when you are without children and should you own firearms and a child comes along, find a secure place for said items but never in your home or anywhere near by. When the child matures (good rule of thumb 2lyears of age) and moves out, then retrieve your items. 4. That Turkey Shoot or Pheasant Hunt can wait; there is plenty of variety in your local food store, already dressed! 5. Children are exceptionally skilled in seeing what parent’s do, even when we parents think they are completely involved with what they are doing, that third eye is watching and observing us. 6. Don't use combination locks, I guarantee you any child will know the combination before you memorize it. 7. Finding a firearm in or on your child's person; immediately remove the item from their hands or hiding place not touching the trigger and keeping the barrel end pointed toward a safe location and call for assistance by someone of competence. Summing up: I live with the LIFE STOPPING EVENT every second of each day! DON'T ADD YOURSELF TO MY LIST!!! My commitment to you keeps my life worthy of living! Hot Line 302 540-9108
