WILD HORSE AND BURRO WORKSHOP 2002 September 23-29, 2002 -- This year's event will be held in Lawrence, Kan., at the Douglas County 4-H Fairgrounds, 2110 Harper Road, from September 23 to September 29, 2002. On September 28, the BLM will hold an adoption where several of the approximately 90 wild horses and 30 wild burros will have received some hands-on gentling during the week long event. Approximately ten professional trainers from across the country will teach "hands on" wild horse gentling and training techniques, seminars on nutrition, safety, halter tying and first aid.
