She hadn't expected this turn of events. Apparently, the clone creature had awoken early and used Teleport to get away. She hadn't even named the damn thing and it was already gone. The question was: Teleported where? After all, it had to know of a safe place to teleport TO. Even at the highest rate of information assimilation that she had estimated, the genetically spliced half-clone shouldn't have been able to use Teleport to free itself. It's thoughts should still have been a mess for another six hours. Fear was among one the things on Madam Radiance's mind. Had her side of genes been dominate, the half-clone wouldn't have left. So, the Widow Slayer's genes were more powerful. But how much of the Slayer's personality and in what areas? Madam Radiance sighed, "Well, mother, it seems your habit of screwing shit up WAS passed on." Mia Ausa looked at the building. Once, it had been a large and beautiful mansion. Now, it was a burnt husk of it's former glory. Roughly fourteen years ago, the place had been set ablaze and no one had come to even loot the place since. Mia walked in through the door frame, not wanting to cause disrespect to the dead by entering via a wall. The entry way lead have seven doors. Two lead to what was probably the kitchen, one to a bathroom, two more to a dining hall, one to a storage closet and the final door, revealed only by the fire damage, lead to a secret room beneath the stairs. Likely an hiding place in case of attackers. Before her was a massive staircase leading upstairs. Mia walked up the burnt and rotted stairs, a minor levitation spell active in case the floor decided to giveway. Still, the wood creaked as she climbed the stairs. She stopped at the landing and turned. Sighing, Mia began chanting the spell to find out the history of the place while activating her memory crystal, "Those whom hath been forgotten, Your past is no longer known, Reveal the tapestry of time And allow thy truth be shown!" Darkness engulfed the entire mansion and restored it to it's former glory. Mia could only stare at the transformed house. It certainly _had_ seen days better than the burnt look it had shown for roughly fourteen years. "The Widow Slayer certainly did have a nice life... for a while." Mia noted before noticing two women in the entryway. One wore a scarlet dress and had her long blonde hair tied up into a bun. It wasn't until the woman turned towards Mia that Mia realized that the woman in the scarlet dress was a Ka-D-Bra. The third eye on the forehead and the enormous breasts, plus the lack of goddess markings or elvish ears whittled the woman's species down to one quite quickly. The third eye closed shortly after opening. Apparently, the scarlet dressed one had been using her psi powers to locate eavesdroppers. Mia made a quick assessment: She didn't like that Ka-D-Bra. There was something less than honest about her. The other was a woman with long brown hair that reached her ankles. She seemed very upset over what the other woman was telling her. "Lucrecia, you know now that your daughter is already displaying her pokegirl abilities, your origins may be revealed. And when that happens, who will you turn to? You have yet to tell even your husband, Vincent, of your 'condition'." the scarlet-clad Ka-D-Bra inquired. "Scarlet, I do NOT want to involve myself with your organization. I don't feel the same about the humans as you and your people do and I could never live with myself if I helped you take your revenge. Please leave now and I won't tell anyone you were around here." Lucrecia responded, doing her level best not become angry at Scarlet for even suggesting such a thing. "You will regret refusing us." Scarlet declared angrily before using Teleport to leave. Days sped by in the vision to the next scene, which involved the house already on fire. Two children, a brother and sister, roughly five years old, hurried to a window near Mia. The boy had short brown hair while the girl had short purple hair. The girl looked pale, despite the lighting from the flames. The girl was wearing white robe-like pajamas. "Ben, I'm scared..." the little girl whimpered, tears rolling down her face as she was tugged along by her older brother. The young boy, Ben, paused at a window and lowered an emergency rope out the window. "Don't worry, Kakurine. Mom and Dad probably already have a lot of water pokegirls on the way, okay? You head back to the old well we play at and wait for me, okay? I'm going to see if I can find mom or dad." Ben told her. Kakurine looked pensively at her brother, but nodded as he helped her up to the rope. She slid down it quickly and landed perfectly on the ground before scurrying off to the old well hidden in the forest. Ben rushed to the entryway, followed closely by Mia. As the young boy reached the destroyed doorway, he and Mia both saw Lucrecia and a tall man with long black hair wearing a business suit facing down a large mob of humans. Mia assumed the tall man was Vincent. "What the hell are you people doing?! Get some water pokegirls immediately!" Vincent roared. "No way, Vincent. We dun some research. Her 'high profile family' don't even exist! She's a friggin' pokegirl!" the leader of the mob declared. "That's-" Vincent began to say in anger. "-true." Lucrecia finished. Vincent's angry statements failed him as he turned to his wife of seven years. "I didn't mean to deceive anyone, but you grew to know me over these past years. Should something as trivial as genetics be the cause of destruction and violence?" Lucrecia pleaded with the mob. No one knew who fired the shot, but the next thing Mia, Vincent or Ben saw was a fountain of red emerging from Lucrecia's left shoulder. Mia watched as both father and son cried out in despair, then in anger. Vincent charged the crowd, intent on paying back the pain. Ben, however, seemingly vanished from the area at that point. Mia was surprised that she hadn't seen who had done it, but the memory crystal would. Mia winced as Vincent was brought down by the angry mob. Vincent and Lucrecia were dragged to the nearest tree and lynched. Mia sighed. It was true that even fourteen years ago, there were plenty of anti-pokegirl hysteria, especially when ones were found to be living as humans, but even then, the lynching ban was in effect. She began walking around the house and followed the path she'd seen Kakurine race along. Kakurine sat next to the well, waiting for her brother and parents. Mia's heart ached as she knew Kakurine would never see them again. Then, movement nearby startled both Mia and Kakurine. Mia's eyes narrowed as Scarlet exited the forest surrounding the well. "Don't be afraid, little one. I mean you no harm." Scarlet said, approaching the frightened girl. "Who... who are you?" Kakurine asked. "My name is Scarlet. I am a friend of your mother's..." Scarlet lied. "Where's momma? Daddy? Big brother?" Kakurine asked, her eyes wide with hope. Scarlet feigned pain well, Mia noted, as the Ka-D-Bra told the small girl, "I'm afraid they were killed by the humans from the nearby village." "Why?" Kakurine asked. "They were afraid of you and your mother. You have powers they can't even dream of and they were jealous. You see, all humans are jealous of pokegirls. And you and your mother were more powerful than most." Scarlet told the purple-haired girl. Kakurine's eyes welled up with fresh tears as her young mind contemplated that, "Humans... they.... they...." Kakurine's innocent eyes filled with rage as she screamed, "I HATE THEM! I HATE THEM ALL!" Scarlet hugged the girl to her and smiled a smug grin that Mia wished she could destroy, "Then you have a reason to fight..." The world of old melted into the present and Mia was left to contemplate things. A Psidyke being that cruel or evil wasn't totally unimagineable, with their perchance of hatred towards men. But now... Mia was now becoming painfully intimate with just how violent the Limbec Pirates and similar pokegirl run organizations could be. To actually destroy an entire family just because it wouldn't join and to instill the only female survivor with an unreasoning hatred... Parity might be an impossibility if such things were to continue. Yuka blinked as she held up her pokedex. She and Reimi had both gotten gotten an e-mail. They opened their dexes and read it, "I apologize for snapping at you two. If you want to find me, I'm at the Hunter's Guild. - Ben" Yuka smiled. At least he wasn't going to stay mad. The last thing she wanted was another enemy. Reimi wondered if he was going to explain anything. Ben was perplexed. Since Yuka and Reimi had sent back responses that they would meet him, he'd decided to tell them, Rasha and Ihrie about his power at the same time. However, since Yuka and Reimi were still on their way to Rage, he needed something to distract him. He'd chosen to confront his new Dominatrix to see if, perhaps, she wasn't as cruel or sadistic as he'd heard the entire Domina species as a whole were. It was when she manifested that Ben realized that, for some reason, both his pokedex and his pokeball were messed up. In front of him was not a Dominatrix. She had far too much magical energy around her to be anything less than an Esper or a Sorceress. Upon reflection, he wasn't quite sure WHY he could sense the amount of magic in her, but he put that on the back burner. Ihadurca was tall. Taller than him. Ihadurca stood six feet five inches tall, a half foot taller than him. She had bluish-green hair tied back into a ponytail, long black leather gloves that reached her upper arms, black leather thigh high boots, and black backless and bellyless dress that had slits up both sides. Said dress was staying in place thanks to Ihadurca's large chest. While not as titanic as that of an Alakawham (or Alakapam in the more polite circles), it _was_ more substantial than a Ka-D-Bra's. Strange red tattoos covered Ihadurca's forehead as well as parts of her exposed chest and stomach. Not only that, but floating about a foot behind Ihadurca, Ben could barely make out a set of etherial white wings. "Ah, you must be my new master. I am Ihadurca, an Dominatrix, at your service." Ihadurca said, bowing. "I don't doubt your name, but why are you posing as a Dominatrix? You obviously aren't." Ben responded. Ihadurca winced as she rose from her bow, "I don't know what you're saying, master, I am-" "A magic type pokegirl. It's obvious from the rune tattoos on your forehead, chest and stomach, as well as your etherial wings." Ben responded. Ihadurca gawked at Ben, "No way! My illusion has never been pierced!" Noting her slip up, Ihadurca looked around and heaved a minor sigh of relief when she noticed they were in a private room. Then wilted a bit when she realized she was now caught. She glanced at Ben with a sorrowful look in her eyes. Had Ben or Ihadurca even seen 20th century animals, they would've known that Ihadurca was giving Ben a 'kicked puppy' look. "I'm not mad. In fact, I'm happy you aren't really a Dominatrix. I just want to know how you managed to fool my pokedex and why you chose to pose as a Dominatrix." Ben explained, offering a seat next to him on the bed. She sighed as she sat down next to him, "It's because I'm such a powerful sorceress. You see these rune tattoos? Ordinarily, when a Sorceress reaches mastery of her magical powers, she places magical rune tattoos that can only be seen by other magical beings as a sign of power and knowledge." Ihadurca glanced at him when she mentioned 'magical beings', pondering briefly if he had a strong magical affinity, then continued her explanation, "When I was born, I already had these markings. I don't know about the wings, but I know I can use them to fly or hover if I need to. They may have been from my father's side, but I don't know since I was taken away from my family shortly after I was born." "When I started learning about magic, I was labeled a child prodigy, capable of more magic as a human than even the most magic adept Elf I had ever met. However, it wasn't long after I became a Sorceress that I realized that all anyone wanted me for was my magical abilities." Ihadurca explained. "I see..." Ben said, "For every honest and decent person, there is a deceitful and greedy person. So, how did you manage to trick my pokedex?" "I am more capable with magic than anyone else that I've ever met. It was child's play for me to create and enchant my pokeball with a magical version of an electronic 'screamer', a potent illusion, as well as some minor confusion spells to complete the whole thing. Since I wanted to be loved for what I was and not the powers I had, so I've been trying to imitate all sorts of pokegirls." Ben contemplated that. Unfortunately, while he didn't mind another new girl so soon, he wasn't sure if he could resist the temptation to call upon her power. Thus, he couldn't be her tamer. "I understand, Ihadurca. I'll do what I can to find you someone who can love you for who you are." Ben told her. Ihadurca blinked and stared at him. Finally, after a few seconds, she inquired, "Why?" "Because I know what it feels like to have people see your power and not you." Ben answered. Tears welled up in her eyes. She could feel in her heart that he wasn't lying. "Thank you." Reimi shook her head. Why did she have a mild headache all of a sudden? It must have been from the effort of catching that Succubus. A small part of Reimi's mind wondered why she'd bothered to catch a Succubus. It wasn't like she was sex-starved enough to need one. On top of that, the girl looked a bit underaged and pale. Yuka's mind was trying to lock onto the reason she'd caught an Iron Maiden. While her new pokegirl seemed like a nice girl, what with her blonde hair and cheerful attitude, Yuka was having trouble locating the exact reason she'd caught another pokegirl. Both realized why they had caught another pokegirl. They wanted to trade with Ben for one of his. Reimi had been eyeing one of Ben's extra Kunoichi while Yuka wanted one of his spare Cheetahs. A faster pokegirl would help her girls train for speed. Neither looked up. Otherwise, they would have seen an Alakapam smiling to herself before teleporting away, her mission accomplished. The duo headed to the Hunter's Guild and found Ben waiting for them. "Just the man we needed to see." Reimi said. "Sorry about blowing up at you. It's just that... nothing in my life has ever been easy and some people fail to grasp that. I jumped to a conclusion when you started asking me and thought you knew what you don't." Ben responded. "We understand, Ben. We both know that Widows and suffering are closely linked. As such, a Widow Slayer would also be closely linked to suffering. Besides, it was still rude of me to press you for something you weren't ready to explain." Reimi apologized. "Thanks for understanding." Ben said, looking a bit relieved that there were no hard feelings. "How about we do something to cement our friendship?" Yuka suggested. "Like what?" Ben asked. "Like an exchange. I got an Iron Maiden recently and I think I might like one of your Cheetahs..." Yuka suggested. "I wouldn't mind taking another Kunoichi into my harem. I've got a fairly cute Succubus in exchange." Reimi offered. Ben blinked. Well, Fubuki _had_ been wanting a different Tamer, but he would have to ask them. Summoning Fubuki and the Cheetahs, he turned to the Kunoichi, "Fubuki, you said you might want a different tamer. Reimi here wants another Kunoichi. What do you say?" Fubuki looked at the blue-haired tamer and looked as if she were considering it. In truth, she'd been hoping one of the two sexy female tamers wanted a Kunoichi, but she didn't want to look like she was an easy sell. If she allowed that, she'd probably be the first into storage. "Very well. I will travel with Miss Reimi." Fubuki said in a very serious tone which perfectly masked the inner glee she felt. Ben handed Reimi Fubuki's pokeball in exchange for Reimi's unnamed succubus. Once the exchange with Reimi was done, Ben turned to Brittany and Brianna. "Would either of you like to travel with Yuka?" Ben inquired. "I wouldn't mind." Brianna spoke up. "Sis, what are you doing?" Brittany murmurred. "I'm not into guys as you are." Brianna muttered back. "Oh." Brittany said. Swapping pokeballs with Yuka, the last exchange was complete. "Now that we're done with that, we should go inside. There are two more people who are going to know how I kill Widows before this day is done and I don't like to repeat myself that often." Ben said, motioning them to follow him. To the northwest of Rage, there was a town reknown for being utterly disgusting to pokegirls and most sane-minded humans. That town was known as Sex. There was a vague rumor about the town. The rumor was about an extremely high-powered psychic-type pokegirl that had entered a breeding cycle in town and subsequently turned all the humans into nigh-brainless zombies, capable of very little thought outside of sex. Over the years, victims of similar psychic stimulation and broken minds were sent to Sex. The town was little more than an overdeveloped corral. The few rational people in the town were simply to keep the nigh-braindead in town and out of trouble. After all, while there were abusive and neglectful tamers abound throughout the Leagues, there was one thing that almost all of them hated. And that was to have a pokegirl, even one they hated, abused and neglected, taken from them without a fight. As such, the town was considered a neutral area and had it's own rules. Very simple ones that even the zombie-esque people of the town could understand. 1) Pokegirls in a building are off-limits. 2) Pokegirls outside of a building are fairplay. 3) Fighting is allowed, but no killing. Outside of those three rules, anything was allowed. However, since the general townsfolk weren't very intelligent, the area was nigh-crime free. After all, what need was there for illegal pitfighting, drugs, weapons or technology? The townsfolk would rather see or have sex. The only thing that might have boomed in that town was a brothel, but the people in the town were penniless. Junpei sighed. He should have gone with Ben and Yuka to July and Rage. Then he wouldn't be in the most Megami-forsaken town in all of Crimson League, outside of Full Mass. It was annoying to walk around and see nothing but glazed over eyes and open mouths that bordered on the need to have a trail of drool running from them. Indeed, the few intelligent people in town were the guards, the Sheriff, the hotel staff and the local doctor, who wasn't very capable at dealing with pokegirls, but was excellent at treating humans. It was like watching the most pathetic zombie movie from the pre-Sukebe eras. Junpei decided that it wasn't worth staying in town. Even if it was the only place to find a warm bed between BlowMetropolis and Vale. Mia Ausa sat by the well and thought. There were still many mysteries to discover about the Widow Slayer. The very being of the man seemed to be creating new mysteries for people to puzzle over. How had he gotten into Team Rocket's hands? What had become of Kakurine, the Widow Slayer's sister? Himiko had explained that while the Widow Slayer was partially a War Esper, he did not use his War Esper powers when he killed Widows. The power he used was different. Which left Mia wondering what power, then, was capable of destroying Widows with such brutal force? Mia glanced up to see... a spirit of some sort. The spirit looked like an older version of the little girl, Kakurine, but she had black feathered wings sprouting from her back. The spirit seemed to fade away, then reappeared again over the well. "She was here." the spirit whispered. "Who are you?" Mia inquired, hoping for a response and dreading the most immediate answer. "I am simply a nameless spirit, remembering a sorrowful past that has been forgotten." the spirit answered. "It won't remain forgotten. I promise that people will know, Kakurine." Mia told the spirit. The spirit shook it's head, "I am not Kakurine. She is a part of who I am, but Kakurine still lives and breathes." Mia blinked in confusion, "What do you mean?" "I cannot tell you, for it was unintentional. I have but one purpose left before I return to the planet." the spirit responded, before fading again. This time, the spirit did not reappear. Mia groaned inwardly. Somehow, the mysteries were not going to be solved so easily. With the four women Ben felt were safest to tell the secret to now gathered, Ben collected his thoughts and started. "You've been wondering for some time exactly how I've managed to slay the three Widows that gave me my title. After a lot of thought, I've decided to explain it to you." Ben began, "The secret is Dark Energy." "What is Dark Energy?" Ihrie inquired. Ben thought about it. He'd explained it once before to Mat, Dan and Jennifer, but they wound up using a variation on the power he utilized. Over the years, he'd managed to figure out the reason why that had been. He raised a hand and created six balls of red energy, "The best way to describe it is like a compass. There's north, east, south and west. But there's also up and down." He formed a square with four of the balls and placed another one above and the last below the square, "The two poles are the strongest emotions in living beings. Love and Rage." "Don't you mean Anger?" Reimi inquired. "Anger is merely a higher form of irritation, Jahana-san. Rage is like a bottomless well compared to the puddle that is anger. Anyone who's ever felt both anger and Rage understands the difference." Ihrie responded. "Quite right, Ihrie. Anger is unreasoning. True Rage _HAS_ reason. It simply focuses on one thing to exclusion of all else. Very much like True Love." Ben answered. "Okay, let's get on with it." Reimi answered. "Each of the compass points is Light, Darkness, Shadow and Color. Every one of these represents your core personality." Ben explained, each of the balls in the square changing colors. One became white, one black, one grey and the last a mixture of blue, red and yellow. Ben continued, "Light is concerned about the means to the end and thus, usually has high morals. Darkness, on the other hand is more concerned about results and thus, will do anything to get those results. Shadow focuses entirely on logic and shuns all emotion. Color is entirely emotion and chooses to live by it to exclusion of logic." "So, which is best?" Ihrie asked. Ben shook his head, "None of them are 'best'. Each has it's advantages and flaws. Light can be quite unreasoning and stubborn once it's made a decision, regardless of whether or not it's the right decision, but it can also increase one's moral compass. Darkness takes a 'last man standing' approach to problems, but involves seeing the good and evil in all people. Shadow is cold, but those affiliated with it are very intelligent. Color is expressive, but those who are linked to it come off very empty-headed. One cannot live by any one of these forces, so for the most part, people are a combination of them." "So, what does this have to do with the power you use?" Yuka asked. "Once you have a deeper understanding of who you are, you can begin tapping into a higher energy. It's not soul energy, but it's a step closer. I should warn you that learning to utilize this energy is NOT going to make you invincible, nor is it easy." Ben let the energy evaporate, "There is, in fact, an easier way to learn it, but I doubt you want to see someone you care about to die. It might take years. You may never learn it because you will never need it." ======================================================================= SORCERESS, the Magical Generalist Type: Very Near Human Element: Magic Frequency: Rare to Very Rare Diet: Human style diet, just lots of it. Role: Magical powerhouses. Depending on their available spells they can be found in many different roles. Libido: Average Strong against: Ghost, Fighting Weak Against: Psychic, Magic, Water, Fire Special Weaknesses: Ticklish, requires large amounts of food. Attacks: Mystic Bolt, Shield, others vary Evolves: None Enhancements: Magical Affinity Sorceresses are known for having a temper, though they can be calm and unflappable. Having a wider range of spells that she can access marks the evolved form of Witch. When a Sorceress casts spells, runes appear on her skin- the more runes appearing means the more power she's channeling. If a Sorceress channels too much power she will collapse from exhaustion. Most Sorceresses know a Flight spell, a Start Fires spell, and up to seven other spells that they can access. When a Sorceress reaches a level of mastery (Level 40-50), she tattoos herself with magical runes that cannot be seen. These are not always the same as the runes that appear when they cast spells. The runes can be be viewed normally by anyone with Magical Affinity blood gift or other Magic types. Psi or ki-using Fighting types can sometimes sense the presense of the runes, but cannot actually see them. Succubus, the Sexy Soul-sucking Pokegirl Type: Very Near Human, Limited Metamorph Element: Magic/Ghost/Flying Frequency: Rare and Wanted Bad Diet: Energy from living things Role: Combat, support during Taming Strong Versus: Fighting, Ground, Normal, Ghost, Magic, Psychic Weak Versus: Dark, as well as “purifying” magic (an exception to the above), such as the kind Megamis often use. Libido: High Attacks: Energy Drain, Go Down, Slash, Bite, Glare, Wrestle, Call Me Queen, Pose, Backhand, Wing Buffet, Reflect, Power Bolt, Spank, Butt Wiggle, Sex Attack 1, 2, 3 Enhancements: Strength x4, Longevity, Solid Ether Body (see below) Evolves: Dark Queen (Mazouku evolution speculated) Evolves From: Daimon (evolved Youma) Succubi are some of the most attractive pokegirls a Tamer can find. Their bodies are shaped almost to perfection, and they highlight this with provocative dress, actions, and speech. They usually have only one or two things to indicate that they are anything except for a very sexy human woman (besides the large, bat-like wings they all possess), usually something like red eyes or small, vestigial wings on other parts of their bodies. Because they are an evolution of Youma, they retain their bad attitude, but unlike the belligerence of a Youma and its other evolutions, a Succubus simply has a condescending attitude towards almost everything. They tend to haughtily ignore anything they don’t care for, and a Tamer they don’t respect won’t be given the time of day. If such a Tamer tries to initiate a Taming with them, he’ll get it, but usually finds himself on the end of a Taming session that could put a Domina to shame. It’s for this reason that Succubi get along cordially with dominating types of pokegirls. Succubi are parasites, in the sense that they need the energy of other creatures to survive. They get this energy by using their Energy Drain technique on their partners during Taming, when the person they are with is giving off lots of energy anyway. As far as Succubi see it, this is more than fair for everyone, since they get physical pleasure, and energy, and their “victim” is enjoying the process also. Despite their condescending attitude, a Succubus never misses a chance for a Taming session, since its pleasurable and filling. The only thing Succubi enjoy anywhere near as much as sex is combat. Like during Taming, this is where they get to show how superior they are to others. They tend to almost sadistically pound on their opponents, and then usually finish them off with an Energy Drain, though this is more to humiliate them than anything else, since by that time a downed victim has little energy left. Despite there being Ghost-types, Succubi are fully solid. The only clue that they are Ghost-types at all is that they can physically touch another Ghost-type whether that pokegirl is “phased” or not. This makes Succubi highly prized as guards against intrusions by other Ghost-type Pokegirls. Succubi cannot phase themselves. They explain this unique ability as being due to “being composed of solid ether.” It is for this reason alone that Succubi are speculated to be the unevolved form of Mazouku. To date, the only known evolution of a Succubus has been to Dark Queen, the ultimate form of a Youma evolution. Even then, what causes this is unknown. It appears to be some combination of post-battle stress (usually from a tough fight), orgasm, and a Dark Stone. If a Succubus can find a Tamer who cant be made to play a subservient role during Taming (hard to do since Succubi are incredibly passionate in bed), and can force the Succubi to do so, then that Tamer has earned a Succubus’s respect and deference. From then on that Tamer will have a powerful and loyal pokegirl in his Harem, ready and eager to please him and fight for him. ======================================================================= ======================================================================= ======================================================================= Wild Horses & Pokegirls - Crimson League Chapter 22 - The Days Past Fight Back If there was a thing that Radiance could be proud of in her current state of depression and misery at her lost project, it was that she was still spearheading three other projects which were vital to the Limbec Pirates. First was the training of the teams who were going to be piloting and defending the Geiselschaft. Discipline, loyalty and focus were needed in the crew of the Geiselschaft and instilling such was Radiance's specialty. Second was the training of the army that was formulating to take over the Crimson League. In pre-gone eras, armies had been trained in uniform, learning the same stock techniques which were never used in actual combat. Instead, the Limbec Pirates had opted to use training techniques similar to their primary foes, the Tamers. An experienced fighter would take various other pokegirls under her wing to train them and keep them from going feral. And the last was the airforce of the Limbec Pirates, the Angel Wings. Any pokegirl that could fly looked forward to becoming part of the Angel Wings. Their duty was gathering information, extra pokegirls and occassionally taking out the worst of the bad tamers. When the war came, air superiority would lie entirely in the hands of the Limbec Pirates and not just because of the Geiselschaft, but also because of the Angel Wings. The Angel Wings were led by Feather, who was unique amongst her brethren. Feather was an Angel, but most Angels had white plumage on their wings. Feather had golden wings, making her noticably different from other Angels. The golden winged Angel was already a veteran to fighting, reknown for being able to learn techniques quickly. She was also prized for being a Feral who had managed to break the limitations on intelligence and could speak not just pidgeon-esque, but she could speak better than most professors. Feather was only five years old, but as with most ferals, maturity was reached very quickly and then they lived a standard lifespan at their physical peak. Feather stood at six feet two inches, with sky blue eyes and long golden blonde hair that ran down to the middle of her back. She wore a backless tunic and skirt with heavy metal bracers for her legs and arms. Of all of Radiance's subordinates, Feather was the only one Radiance considered worthy of eventually taking over her place. By Feather's side was her lover, Jenn, a four year old feral Pidgerseatah. The girl had plain brown hair, an oddity as most Pidgerseatahs gained a red or green streak in their hair (or both) when they evolved. Jenn's hair was the exact same length as Feather's. Her brown eyes constantly flickered over to Feather, regardless of any situation. She stood only four feet tall and wore the exact same things as Feather. Unlike Feather, though, Jenn could only speak a few words at a time. She usually chose a word that best answered a question or best stated her opinion. "Madam Radiance, we have come at your behest." Feather declared, bowing to the smaller purple-haired Megami. Ordinarily, Radiance refused to reveal much of any project she worked on. She told others that it was for fear that human psychics, mages or electronic bugs would pick up her words. In truth, it was because she was not a very trusting person. However, with Feather and Jenn, the only two people Radiance thought of as anything besides a sexual partner or a tool, Radiance was always honest. "Feather, I fear I may have done something that may endanger us all. It was foolhardy, upon reflection, but the gains were too great for me to simply allow the opportunity to slip by." Radiance explained. "Madam?" Feather inquired. "I attempted to clone the infamous Widow Slayer. However, I did not want a carbon copy. I needed someone who would be loyal to us. So, I performed a gene-splice with my own DNA. However, it seems that the creation of myself and the Widow Slayer was much faster and smarter than I thought. It teleported out of it's tube." Radiance answered. Radiance sighed, "Now we have a rogue half-Megami half-Widow Slayer loose. Neither I nor the Widow Slayer have left the main island of Crimson League, so this fusion should still be in this League." "Why did you do it?" came Jenn's inquiry. Radiance was surprised by Jenn's sentence more than the question, "As I said, I wanted the power of the Widow Slayer loyal to our side." Feather spoke up, "But why not contact us beforehand?" "I don't know!" Radiance snapped angrily, before forcibly calming down, "I made a lot of mistakes in my haste." Feather frowned, "You've never made so many mistakes in a single situation before, Madam." Radiance glared at Feather before her anger faded. She'd screwed up more than she ever had since becoming a Megami. Megami were allowed to make mistakes, but there was a force many Megami secretly referred to as The Will. Whenever The Will was involved, a Megami never made actually made a mistake, because she was simply fulfilling a part of Destiny. It was no different from when a human used a fork to eat. The fork was never eaten nor was it responsible for anything that occurred. It was simply an efficient tool to get the job done. Radiance knew The Will had guided her to create the fusion. However The Will was never directly spoken about except between a Teacher Megami and a Student Megami. Absolutely no one else knew of it and even if they did, no one ever spoke about it because that was part of the power of The Will. Radiance could not tell even her closest friends of The Will. She could already feel the tight clench of The Will preventing her from speaking of it directly. But she couldn't explain her actions in any other way. But what was The Will doing, creating such mayhem? She had felt The Will direct her in times past to benefit the Limbec Pirates. It had provided her with the location on things of the past which had begun the creation of the Geiselschaft and the Angel Wings. It had even guided her to take the place of her predessor. "Interference?" Jenn inquired quietly to Feather. "You mean someone might have been interfering with her thoughts?" Feather asked in an equally low tone while Radiance was busy thinking. Jenn nodded. Feather's eyes narrowed. She didn't like that idea one bit. That meant someone had deliberately messed with her lady. And she did not like that thought one bit. Especially because Radiance was the one to influence her transformation into an Angel. Before she became an Angel, her wings had been deliberately clipped by the bastard who dared called himself her 'owner'. All he had done was steal her egg and he dared to cripple her ability to fly. Radiance had been the one to silence that ignorant clod with a Psi-Blade, tearing him from rectum to sternum. Once she had evolved, her wings healed and she was able to fly, but weak at it. Radiance had again stepped into to help her gain and surpass the control and endurance of her sisters. And she'd introduced Feather to Jenn. Someone was manipulating the woman Feather owed everything to. Feather was not going to let such an insult pass. Feather stood and addressed Radiance, "My Lady, perhaps you have simply been overworking yourself. You try too hard to be a parent to all of us. You forget that you too, while powerful, are only mortal." Radiance didn't know why she began blushing as the two bird pokegirls advanced. All she knew was that she was going to enjoy the relaxation methods they had in mind. Reimi was reflecting on the speech once again as she looked down upon the garden. Before hearing what he had to say, Reimi had always figured that the Widow Slayer had simply undergone special training. Perhaps there was, indeed, another way to learn how to use the next level of power above Ki. But the way the Widow Slayer had learned was... well, disturbing to say the least. Not only that, but it became painfully obvious why he had tried to bury his title and past. To have people constantly trying to fight him only to be disappointed that they didn't 'rate' the Widow Slaying power? To have everyone pester him on details about the fight and to be constantly reminded of how he'd failed? Or to have people whine and complain because they couldn't use the same thing? He didn't seem that bad off, all things considered. Still, Reimi was reflecting on a number of things. Most importantly was her view of Yuka. For some reason, Yuka had become more dear to Reimi. The idea of losing her to something as evil and nasty as a Widow was... unthinkable. "Credit for your thoughts." Reimi glanced over to see the blonde Sorceress Rasha, Ihrie's Alpha leaning against the same railing that Reimi was, only a foot and a half from Reimi. "I was just thinking about how long I've traveled with Ben and I haven't even really asked him much about anything. And when I did, I came off sounding like the sort of nag he probably tried to get away from." Reimi commented. "True, but don't hate yourself for it. Ben holds grudges only against those who insult or hurt Jennifer-OH!" Rasha began, before clamping her hands over her mouth. Reimi glanced at the sorceress, who panicked, "Uh, please forget you heard that name, okay?" A few days ago, Reimi would have pressed for information. But considering how much crap Ben seemed to be holding back more for everyone else's sake, she decided to oblige Rasha's request, "Fine." Rasha sighed in relief. "Now, Rasha, you should know better than that. I said it was fine to speak about her." came Ben's voice. Rasha glanced over her shoulder to see Ihrie and Ben, each holding a bouquet of roses. Ihrie spoke up, "We're going to be leaving for a short bit to visit Jennifer's grave." Rasha nodded and started toward Ihrie, who raised a hand, "Sorry, but one of us has to stay on base, especially if that Dryder comes back." Rasha sighed, "Okay, but give her my regards." Ihrie smiled weakly, "I will." As the Tamer and Hunter turned and left, Rasha turned back and leaned against the railing. A few quiet moments later, Rasha answered the unasked question, "Jennifer was Ben's true love. She died against a widow about five years ago." Reimi winced. She was quickly wishing she hadn't known that. She recalled the day her father had died. Her mother became an emotional wreck for three whole months. Still, he had something to live for and that made him more impressive. It began to rain as he set the roses on the the mound. Ihrie watched Ben for a few seconds, then looked at the grave. She'd known Jennifer fairly well. Jennifer had lived near Ihrie's first 'home' back when she wasn't even part of the group she and Ben had come from. Ihrie had watched as the girl's family went backrupt. The family was swindled out of thousands by shady people in other Leagues. Then, Jennifer's parents disappeared one day, leaving her all alone. Ihrie had found the nerve to ask Jennifer for some food that day. Jennifer had been very friendly, even letting Ihrie bathe, a rarity for the orphan. Ihrie kept Jennifer company during the next few weeks while her parents were away. They ate together, played together and even shopped together. Then, the bill collectors came, claiming the house as payment for overdue bills. Jennifer's parents never returned. Ihrie and Jennifer went to the streets, but found a group to become part of. One led by Jyabil and his second in commmand, Ben. Jennifer fell instantly in love with Ben and Ihrie saw that it was a mutual thing, but they both had other duties in the group. For Ben, it was helping Jyabil with small jobs and doing small unnoticed petty thefts of clothes and food. For Jennifer, it was collecting sticks for fire and cooking the food Ben and Jyabil brought home. Slowly, the older children joined Jyabil and Ben on their work. After Jyabil died, Ben took the role of leader with Jennifer as an advisor. He reformed the group completely and began expanding it by accepting numerous other people. Since he'd slain a Widow, he was given a lot of leniency and with Jennifer's aid, he turned into a brilliant leader. Young, yes, but he proved time and again that he was capable. The Langoud's captain, Grapple, saw that when Ben had offered him security services in exchange for being able to live in the warehouses. Grapple had been adamantly against it, so Ben challenged him. Ben pounded the Langoud's captain into submission. "When you left... we were all confused." Ihrie spoke up, "You were our leader and... we all feared you had been injured or killed. Eventually, Wyna and I split the group and we went our separate ways. I reformed the Hunter's Guild from it's sloppy ways while Wyna joined the Langoud and eventually took it over." "I heard." Ben responded. "As the months went by, I was always wondering if you were alive or not. No one ever found you, but there are plenty of kids who can disappear without a single trace. I held hope that you were okay and you would eventually come back." Ihrie continued. Ben lowered his head, "Ihrie... do you know why I don't use Light energy instead of Darkness?" "You hate high morals?" Ihrie guessed. "Morals are fine. High morals give you guidelines to live by, even if you can be manipulated through them. I chose the path of Darkness because I'm willing to give up my life to save those I care about. In a way, I chose to put those I care about above the morals I hold, but also because I felt Darkness fit me far better than the Light." Ben responded. "I know. You taught us that sometimes, life tests your resolve and you should never hesitate to do the right thing if it's for the right cause." Ihrie answered. "It's the words I've tried to live by. Of course, there is always going to be a few slip ups. No one is flawless, after all." Ben commented, "I think I finally got that through my thick head." "That's why you let that Dryder go?" Ihrie inquired. Ben shook his head, "No, I let that go because it was harmless." Ihrie arched an eyebrow, "How so?" "The Widow should be feared because it's venom and it's relentless and mindless behavior. The Dryder didn't have any visible stingers, it could speak and it knew how powerful I am. That made it weak and harmless by comparison. Not only that, but Rasha would detected it out of instinct. The Dryder was almost on us and she was caught completely offguard." Ben responded. Ihrie considered that and nodded. "In any case, I shouldn't be telling you this out here. The rain's been light so far, but we should get back before it worsens." Ben announced. ======================================================================= Angel, the Avenging Pokegirl Type: Near Human Metamorph/Very Near Human Element: Flying/Magic Frequency: Very Rare Diet: Human style foods, vegetarian Role: Aerial Scout and Shock troop Libido: Normal Strong Against: Bug, Fighting, Normal, Dark Weak Against: Electric, Poison, Water Attacks; Gust, Psi-blade, Mana Bolt, Shield, Dazzle Enhancements: Limited Metamorph - can manifest wings or dismiss them at need. With their inch long claws made for digging, coarse hair and leather like skin make the ground type a very tough Pokegirl, good at taking damage, their only real weakness is water attacks, and having their small tails squeezed, most SexShrews hate having to take baths, as it leaves them feeling weak and disoriented afterwards. SexShrews are often called "SandyShrews" the Crimson League and are a bit less timid. ======================================================================= Manami and Theodore Diggers hunt Ben down.
