Formal Japanese furniture
like the Imari is not the only thing that comprise asian-inspired furniture
. They also include less formal pieces that can contribute to the Asian
ambiance of your room, changing the space from stressful and cluttered to a more
relaxing and organized area.
Take for instance the Japanese Tansu. It’s not as formal looking as one would have
you believe. It’s a traditional chest that has several drawers and compartments,
sometimes with sliding grated doors. This type of Japanese furniture is not only perfect
for the kitchen, but can be used inside your bedroom and home office as well. If one
of the compartments is big enough, you can even even place a TV in there for your
entertainment needs. If it’s the small one you have, you can place it at your bedside
where you can store your personal effects. Furthermore, because the design is usually
clean and linear, you can match it with any modern décor or furniture you already have.
