About the Artist

Michele Thomson Tidd became interested in Mehndi quite by chance, but as she learned more about the ancient traditional art form she rapidly developed a passion for the medium. As many Henna artists do, she started by experimenting with different recipes for the perfect paste and practicing the traditional designs as well as her own. As she grew more skilled in her art, she began sharing it with others and started attending art fairs and community events. Several years later Michele is enjoying bringing her work to others, both individuals and groups, and broadening the audience for this unique craft.

This web site is in many ways a reflection on the roots of the art form, joining the community of artists and enthusiasts that have populated the Internet. Through the sharing and demonstration of the application and appreciation of Mehndi, all of us enrich ourselves by embracing a rich tradition. By sharing this art with others, we bring the ancient tradition of Mehndi to the Western culture and enjoy the celebration of body and spirit.
