What is Jesus and Religion?
I would like to share with you my feelings toward the subject of religion, Jesus and beliefs.
When many people hear the words Jesus, God, Religion, Belief, church etc. they think money, fake, lies, hypocrites, judgment, power and more. Frankly I do not blame these people for feeling this way about the organized religions of today. Religion has became commercialized and abused today. I was raised in a household of strong religious beliefs and yet at one time in my life I denied there was a God or that the concept even existed, due to these terrible elements in religions today. Then one day I realized. Jesus is NOT what people do in his name. They are wrong. He nor his teachings are not wrong. People are wrong. People do these things in his name and yet he does NOT approve nor condone their behavior. In my opinion religion’s today have lost the truth. They believe that Jesus is contained within certain walls at certain times and if you are not there to see him you will be judged to hell. Well guess what my God is with me every moment of my life and I do not have to go to building to find him. They believe that they now have power ( even though Jesus taught to be humble above all) They believe people owe them money ( even though Jesus took no pay for his services) They believe they can judge ( even though Jesus taught judgment is wrong) they believe that lies, hypocritical behavior, and faking perfection is right ( even though these elements are totally against the way the Jesus taught. He taught no man is without sin) People did these things not Jesus.
I believe the easiest way to think of Jesus is to think of him as a parent and we are his children. He loved us from the moment we came to be, and he will care for us, love us, teach us and yet he will not make us do anything or he will not ever stop loving us, yet like real life is we make bad choices we will pay the consequences. We will learn from our mistakse if our hearts are open to the truth.
I feel that the laws of right and wrong are our conscious. We make a choice to listen to our conscious or to ignore it and do what we please but the rules of right and wrong are there for us all the time..
I was asked a while back, “ How do you know you are not wrong and Jesus does not exist and what you have learned is all wrong and there is no such thing as heaven and hell or right and wrong.” I replied. “ Well if you are right and there is not a God and I die, then at least I attempted to do what was I felt was right in my lifetime. But if I am right and you are wrong and there is a God and you die….. You are screwed.” This was meant to be a joke yet holds lots of truth to me. To me Jesus is real and right and wrong is real. But what people do in his name is totally wrong and I am just sad that many have turned from even attempting to hear about him due to these wrong so called Christians.
