At Her Master's Voice
An anime-style Christine Daae waking up to the voice of her Angel of Music.
Cover for Black Velvet
Basic layout for what I would want if Black Velvet were ever published.
Mourning His Loss
Based on Susan Kay, Charles mourning his mother's death.
In the Moment Before Singing
Christine in her ballet dancer's costume for Hannibal, taking a deep breath before starting on Think Of Me.
Sweet Intoxication
Everyone's favourite part of Music of the Night.
Phangirls Logo
Me being goofy and professional at the same time. A logo for Phantom Phangirls everywhere.
When Phangirls Attack
Me being REALLY silly. Three frantic phangirls attacking a poor, hapless Erik.
Screenprinting Book Cover
The cover of a coffee-table-style book I made of various Phantom-esque images.
Jenny's Angel Costume
Also known as Self-Portrait on Purim/Halloween. The dress and wings I have that inspired Jenny's costume for the Masquerade in Black Velvet.
Angel of Music
Picture from a phan phic I have not written yet about Erik and the real Angel of Music.
The Khanum
From Susan Kay's Phantom, the tempting and very dangerous khanum... only woman silly enough to think Erik would fit into a small jar. Silly, silly woman...
Who's There?
Not strictly Phantom, but it fits well into this category. One of my first times messing about in Photoshop... I discovered the Render Clouds tool! Hooray for fog!
Young Erik
More Susan Kay Phantom. Here's a twelve year old Erik skulking about in the night-time. He lends himself so well to anime style, doesn't he?
Zora, Contortionist
Harem girl semi-inspired by Susan Kay's book. While in Persia, Erik is sent a harem girl... in the book, she is afraid and denies him and is later killed by the khanum. In my warped mind, she has more than a half a brain and isn't silly enough to refuse Erik. She also happens to be a contortionist, so that when she and Erik escape Persia, she can accentuate his magic performances.
Zora, Harem Girl
Same character as above, only in her harem gard instead of her acrobat garb. Oh. My. God. A BACKGROUND!
Where Has he Gone?
Meg Giry at the end of Phantom of the Opera, holding Erik's mask and wondering what has happened to the mysterious man that her mother has always protected and aided. Hee... I love the big floppy bow in her hair... it's SO Degas...
Why Doesn't He Love Me?
Based on the character from Susan Kay's book, here is Luciana, the "first love" of Erik's adolescense (meaning he was about 15 at the time and she was the same). She's a hellion in the novel, but I seem to have caught her at a pensive moment.
What Can You Do For Me?
Apparently I am doing a series of the women in Erik's life as according to Susan Kay, because here's a picture of the khanum, royal bee-yatch that she is. Henna-ed hands! Yay!
When Will it Stop?
The next in my series of the women in Erik (The Phantom of the Opera's) life. This is his mother, Madeleine, still pregnant with him, the evening after her husband has died. According to Susan Kay, she was struck with a series of tragedies one after another; her parents' death to cholera, then her husband's death due to an accident on a building site. Poor Madeleine has no idea that even now a so-called "monster" is growing in her belly.
Who Is That?
Next, though probably not last,in this series. Couldn't possibly leave out Christine after all. Christine when she first hears her Angel of Music's beautiful voice. I tried to make Christine resemble Madeleine a little, with colouring and all, though her hairstyle is obviously different.
Erik At Work
Yet another Phantom drawing, this one of the Opera Ghost himself! The lyrics are "never was and never will be ... you don't know how you've betrayed me ... and somehow you've got everybody fooled" from Evanescence's song "Everybody Fooled". They just struck as something Erik would write ina fit of spleen over Christine. VERY pleased with his hands this time around! Usually when I make thin hands (like Erik was supposed to have), they look girly. This time they look skeletal, just like I wanted!
Photo-manip : Susan Kay's Phantom
A photomanip I did of Gerard Butler as ALW's Phantom to make him more in keeping with Susan Kay's description. The original picture can be found here at gerardbutler.net
Abandon All Hope
A sort of what-if? picture. Wondering what would happen if Erik had NOT let both Christine and Raoul go but made her stick to her bargain. Chrisitne's doing that scared-to-death-but-strangely-turned-on thing and Erik is aware of her losing her nerve. He's basically saying "you are NOT backing out on me now!". Scary!Erik!
The Words Aren't Yours...
Title taken from a line in one version of "Angel of Music". It's Meg's line and goes "I saw your face through the shadows, distance through all the applause. I hear your voice in the darkness, but the words aren't yours." Meg is quite worried over the change in her friend and what it all means. Christine is trying to decide what and how much to tell Meg.
Susan Kay's Phantom Cover Contest Entry
From the contest the Llumina Press held to design the book cover for the reprint of Susan Kay's Phantom. I didn't win, but I adore the cover that did. But anyway, here's my entry.
You're not supposed to be able to tell if that's a spider web or a broken mirror.
Lost No More : A Phantom of the Opera Doujinshi
A comic idea that came to me while listening to a continuous loop of Danny Elfman's Grand Finale music from Edward Scissorhands. Based on Phantom of the Opera, obviously, this is just some weird idea that came to me while I was trying to go to sleep to said music. I decided to make Christine blonde since that is how she is described in Leroux's book.
Artwork, writing, and concept Copyright to me. The Phantom and Christine copyright to ALW or Lerous or Kay or somebody with more money than me.
