The Girl Scout Promise

On my honor, I will try,
to serve god and my country,
to help people at all times,
and to live by the Girl Scout Law.

The Girl Scout Law

I will do my best to be,
Honest and Fair,
Friendly and Helpful,
Considerate and Caring,
Courageous and Strong,
Responsible for what I say and do,
To respect myself and others,
To respect authority, and use resources wisely,
To make the world a better place,
and to be a sister to every Girl Scout.

A poem for Girl Scout Parents

Perhaps when she came home today,
"What did you do in Scouts?"
When she replied, "Nothing but play."
You were filled with doubts.
The weeks went by, you asked again
She still had no craft to show.
Then you began to wonder,
Why didn't they glue or sew?
For afterall its dues each week,
and driving here and there. the uniform, the permission slips and cookie sales to share. Ah, but she brought home much better things That no glue or craft could make, if only to lend a helping hand when needed for someones sake. Its the caring, sharing, learning, growing the golden rule is our thumb, For she'll be the one with the helping hand, In the future years to come! You see although we think of scouting now, font> It really isn't today! It's the scouting for tomorrow, And to help them explore the way. So when she comes home the next time please, you can rest with a brand new start, For the craft she brought home today, Is molded in her heart.
