Advancements on the Internet have come a long way. There are now programs that you can get (or that sites put in your computer) that track you down for marketing research for companies. You can be paid to have a banner ad at the bottom of your screen. One advancement is sites like ebay.com with auctions, alot of people shop at these sites, there are so many people on these sites that the moment Ebay offered a new video game system, all the systems were bought out in less than 30 seconds.

New advancements have been made in the speed of the Internet. Cable and DSL lines are now available at a relatively low cost. These lines provide high-speed Internet that is always available without having to wait for a connection. These connections are capable of downloading 1.5 Megabytes of information in a second, however lines this fast are move expensive then the rest and high-speed connections aren't available everywhere- but they will be.
