Job Outlook by mnCareers.org:
Banking and finance careers have a good outlook. A high amount of turnover means jobseekers find a large number of openings each year. Corporate scandals in the news have led businesses to hire more financial workers to oversee their finances. An unstable economy has also increased demand for financial analysts and planners to help businesses and individuals.
Technological advances impact banking. Tasks people used to do are now automated. Online and ATM banking allow people to bank 24 hours a day without a human teller. Transfers are easier with direct deposit. People can also access their accounts via their cell phones. Some financial services remain people-oriented. Customers still prefer to work one-on-one with accountants and financial analysts.
