Design your own experiments.  Raise your own tomato plants in our green house. Study local trees and wildflowers while on nature hikes.  Become a better organic gardener.  Learn how to take better care of your own lawn naturally.  Botany is an exciting discipline and one in which new discoveries in plant studies are making a dramatic impact on our quality of life!

Botany students will go on nature hikes in our "living library". They collect many items like leaves and other plant structures for research and identification in class. Students should always leave the forest in better condition than they found it!

Chaska High School provides a greenroom that is unique and special because it is only for the use of botany students. This is where plant research and cultivation takes place during the course.

A botanist is a biologist who specializes in the study of plants.

There are different kinds of botanists. Some are interested in how plants interact with their environments (plant ecologists); others are interested in how plants grow (plant physiologists). I (web designer) am especially interested in how plants are related to each other. If you are interested in botany studies as well, then you will have lots of fun is this course.
