*Jumps!*

Jumps: they are divided into two groups:

1. Group 1: These movements are not directed into the air but are still considered jumps because they do leave the floor (but only a little bit) and remain parallel to the ground. For a list of these jumps, click here.

2. Group 2: Aerial Jumps. These jumps are characterized by a clear and visible action of leaving the floor. Divided into four groups:

a. Jumps From Both Feet to Both Feet

b. Jumps From Both Feet to One Foot

c. Jumps From One Foot to the Other

d. Combination Jumps

*Something to remember about jumps: Always begin and end each jump with a plie, otherwise you could severely injury yourself.* Click here to go back to Ballet Terms
