Thursday 13th January presented us with a great opportunity. All the NYSF students
and staff were invited to a reception at Government House, Yarralumla.
As Major General Micheal Jeffery was not in residents we were unable to get a tour of
the house, but were still able to take a bus tour around the grounds. This was a great
privilege as the grounds are closed to the general public.
The grounds are extensive so we stayed close to the house, driving around the gardens,
which were quite amazing. The most impressive part of them was the lake (Lake Burley Griffin)
with the view to Black Mountain and Telstra tower. We were also able to view the outside and main
entrance of the house.
We all enjoyed this visit to Government house as it was an enormous privilege, something which many
other people will never experience.
