John Slator

On March 3,1976, at Deer Lodge Hospital after a lengthy illness, John Slator, aged 83, beloved husband of the late Dianne Slator.

Mr. Slator was born in Dublin, Ireland. He served in the Royal Enniskillen Fusiliers. He came to Canada in 1922 and worked at Stony Mountain Penitentiary for 30 years. He was a life member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Norwood, St. Boniface Branch.

Predeceased by his first wife Mary in 1937, son Danny in 1944, son Michael in 1973, second wife Dianne in 1975, he leaves to mourn daughters Mary, Helen, Peggy and Allison and sons Chris, Jim and Sandy as well as sons and daughters-in-law, 19 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. He has donated his body to The Anatomy Department of the University of Manitoba.

A Memorial Mass will be offered at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Traverse and Dubuc, Norwood, Saturday, March 6 at 2:00 p.m. Flowers gratefully declined. Contributions may be made to the Sanatorium Board of Manitoba, 800 Sherbrook Street.
