We must question the legitimacy of any state action, let alone one that claims to be backed by the community, if it cannot be executed without the backing of an army of police.
MnDOT obtains support from the Park Board by promising to remove no more than two trees to construct a detour for the next phase of highway construction. On July 26, City and State Troopers erect barricades around workers while over thirty trees are removed. Protesters are attacked and arrested daily. To date, arrests and destruction are ongoing. Check back for day to day coverage of the State's brutal actions.
