 Police build bonfires to burn protesters' possessions only a few feet away from the alleged "pirate natural gas hookups" that the State insisted were a public safety concern. The hookups' existence was never verified, although witnesses say they never saw any evidence of them.  Inspector David Indrehus, Lieutenant Alva "Bud" Emerson and Lieutenant Christopher Hildreth received the Chief's Award of Merit for their work in planning and executing the predawn raid. Police Chief Robert Olson says the level of professionalism shown during the raid was "great."  Officers on-site warm themselves on an MTC bus while cuffed and beaten protesters are left barefoot and disoriented in the snow outside. $4,000 worth of taxpayer-funded coffee and donuts were later catered in to keep the cops warm. |
