The items needed the most for our "Christmas Care Package" for our Mission Partners in Teller - Brevig, Alaska.are: dried cranberries & other dried fruits, Tide laundry detergent tablets (new product), Clorox bleach powder, sugar, flour, spices, any other food staples that can be easily shipped, kleenex & toilet paper. DID YOU KNOW ... IN ALASKA THESE COMMON HOUSEHOLD ITEMS COST 4 TIMES MORE THAN THEY DO IN THE CONTINENTAL USA?!!!! Other "fun" items to donate are: childrens books, coloring books & crayons, music CD's, videos, treats such as fudge, candy canes, bubble gum, Canelakes or other chocolates and any Minnesota items (tshirts, sweatshirts, hats, etc). These items do not have to be brand new, but should be in good condition. Please put your donations in the big box in the Narthex of the church. Important Update - Yes! Five boxes have been sent and as of last week all five have been received. They are most grateful for everything we have sent so far. We are still in need of funds for shipping, as it costs about $60 per box. This is a very important ministry that is valued by them and I really appreciate all everyone has done to contribute.
