GEMS
Genetic Epidemiological Model Simulation

Simulation of micorparasite infection in livestock population using Genetics, Epidemiology and Management information

GEMS is a Windows based software for running stochastic simulation in relation to disease dynamics. Presently two editions of GEMS have been developed. First one is Students version for illustration and teaching purpose only. It gives enormous possibilities for students to familiar with various concepts of epidemiology. It also gives various graphical illustrations for easy understanding. GEMS is a Professional version, which could be used by research scientists in the field of epidemiology. It analyses disease dynamics using four compartmental models. It has several options to modify parameters values, which will give plenty of opportunities to study the dynamics of disease in all perspectives. One can perform both stochastic and deterministic modelling under different genetic epidemiological conditions. Presently the beta testing is undergoing for GEMS.

The project on GEMS is collaborated with Prof. S.C. Bishop, Prof. J.W. Woolliams and funded by BBSRC, UK.
