Peder Andersen Svaarkaas
born in Ørkedalen of parents Anders Pedersen and Malena Rasmusdaughter
and living in Kvammen district, 1 ½ years old, is by me, undersigned, Year 1845, July 9, inoculated with cowpox. By closer scrutiny between the 7. and the 9. day after the inoculation, I have found all the signs, which prove to be genuine cowpox; they were whole and undivided, filled with a clear fluid, downpressed in the middle, and surrounded by a red circle; Peder Andersen Svaarkaas then has really gone through the genuine cowpox which protect against smallpox; which hereby on honor and conscience by

(Comments: Such attestations were common in Norway, I have seen many of them. Chr. Frost was the young son of the Minister of Ørkedal (Orkdal today) who at that time was 85 years old and still the appointed minister!)
