Martine's Buddhist Women

This is a site for sharing my interest in Buddhism. This path makes more and more sense to me as I practice meditation and everyday mindfulness.

If you want to learn more about Buddhsim, you could start by visiting:

BuddhaNet

The Garden of Liberation

An introduction to Basic Buddhism.

An article about women in the time of the Buddha.

We don't hear a lot about enlightened women throughout history. In fact, I've heard that there weren't many of them. I don't believe it, and here's the case of Dhammadinna to inspire us.

There is a lot of material here about women at "Zen, Women, and Buddhism"

Here is some more about women in the Theravada tradition at "Theravada Women"

And here from the Mahayana Buddhist tradition is "The Goddess and Sariputra", which is my name for Chapter 7 of "The Vimalakirti Nirdesa Sutra." The encounter at the centre of this chapter of the scripture is great fun.

A message from the Dalai Lama to Buddhist women.

Chris McLean also has a Buddhism and Psychotherapy discussion group, and he also gives an introduction to the ideas of Buddhist Psychotherapy.

Any comments or material, I'd like to hear from you. I might be slow in responding, but please write to:
