The whole team dressed up for the national banquet. We got to exchange t-shirts with another member of another team...I got Manhattan's shirt! :)

FRIENDSHIP
Basketball, like many other social activities, provides a great opportunity to touch people. But unlike most other activities, baksetball reveals a person throught action rather than words. In forty minutes of playing time, if you are observant, you can learn about the competitive spritit, aggressiveness, mental attitude, physical stamina, pain threshold, courage, copperatives, integrity, and natural grace of all the participants.
Later in the locker room, when you are enjoying that special feeling that pulses throught the body after the physical activity, friendships begin to develop. You already know some things about each other's character. If you liked what you saw, the slow process of discovering what you have in common on other levels begins.
All rewarding friendships are based upon shared interests. Once or twice, in a lifetime, you will meet a person woh can share you joys, tolerate your shorcomings, and make you feel really good about being alive.
But the chemistry of friendship is strange indeed. Two people can have everything in common, including great basketball talent, yet lact that essential element needed to create real friendship. There is a balance between characteristics which compliment, as well as a commonality of interests. On the basketball court, players who are friends have a special awareness of each other at all times. They can anticipate every move. It is an amazing grace.
Basketball players well, like a good friendship, can make the spirit soar. Both are instensely human pursuits.
