Joseph & Eve's Trip to Washington D.C. - 11/24/00

Washington Monument in the Rain

Here are the pictures I took with my new toy, the Canon Power Shot S100 Digital Camera. While it's not the geekiest or the most expensive camera, the time was right for a digital camera. It's a lot more convenient that conventional film--No more trips to the film processor and no more scanning in the images, one by one! The LCD on the camera allows you to see the picture that you just took. It's too small to see a whole lot of detail, but it can show you if your subject is in the frame or not. Best of all, it's point and shoot, so that I can hand the camera to a normal person and still get a decent shot of Eve and myself.

The original images are 2.1 mega-pixels at 1600 by 1200 pixels resolution. This ends up being larger than your screen and too large for a timely download. So, the images that are posted here are shown as thumbnails under the following links. If you click on them, you can get the 640x480 image, which is only 40% of the original shot, but it displays on screen as a typical 4x6 snapshot. Let me know what you think!

I caught some fantastic images of the view from the plane, around the hotel in Falls Church, VA, in downtown Washington, D.C., in the various Smithsonian Museums, and at the National Zoo. There are also some other shots. mostly museum exhibits.
