Mom's Page

Chelsea said that I could have a page. I want to thank her for that, or should I be insulted? I love my dogs dearly, but sometimes that darn Chelsea gets too big for her britches.

I can reveal a few secrets about Spud and Chelsea, can't I? Spud is more shy and refined. On the other hand, Chelsea is my pain in the neck. She always wants to know what is going on and there is not much you can hide from her. She is always the one to come running first.

Here are a few more things that my dogs will not admit to.

• Spud's first love is food.

• Chelsea, being a typical Chihuahua, will chase just about any dog that is bigger than her out of the yard.

• Spud is a real ladies man and will stop at nothing to charm his lady friends.

• Chelsea sleeps on piles of dirty laundry.

• Spud was caught dragging a deer carcas across the yard when he was a puppy.

  LET ME KNOW-A DOGS PRAYER

  Let me know that through my life you will take care of me always.

  Let me know that visits to the vet are followed by lots of love and treats.
  Let me know that I need training because I want to be good.
  Let me know when I can cuddle in your lap or chew a bit on your shoes.
  Let me know that I am good, or maybe let's pretend that I am.
  Let me know when I have dirty paws so I won't go on the carpet.
  Let me know when someone is near so I can bark real loud for you.
  Let me know that you love me more than the cat.
  Let me know that I can't shake all over you when I am wet from my bath.
  Let me know that the dirty laundry is not my bed.
  Let me know that I just got toys from my favorite person.
  Let me know that you don't like me drinking from the toilet.
  Let me know when you need a friend, or just someone to play with.
  Let me know that I won't have to wait too long for you to come home.
  Let me know that you are ok with a couple of stains on the carpet.
  Let me know and I will not fail to give you the sweetest love of your life.
  Let me know that the years with me were not wasted.
  Let me know that I am your best friend as you are mine.
  Let me know that I will always have a special place in your heart.
  Let me know that you will be at my side, holding my paw when my world goes dark.
  Let me know that Heaven has special reunions for loves like yours and mine.
  Let me know because I am your dog who will always be there when you need me.
  Let me know from when I was new and fluffy to when I am old and grey.
  THIS POEM WAS WRITTEN BY MOM LAST YEAR TO HONOR ALL OF OUR PUPPY FRIENDS. PRESENT, AND THOSE WHO HAVE PASSED THROUGH THE RAINBOW BRIDGE.
