Tips
- I recommend washing all of your hunting clothes in a scent killer laundry detergent without UV brighteners. Then put your clothes immediately into plastic bags and keep outside until needed. Adding leaves to the bag you keep your outer wear in is a popular idea.
- If you need to start a fire, but everything is wet or you are having trouble, find a good amount of pine sap coming out of a pine tree, scrape it off with a knife, put it on what you are trying to burn and light it.
- If you are lost, don't panic. If you don't think you will be found by sunset, START A FIRE!
- Stay dry! It is very important to stay dry in the woods to avoid hypothermia. Especially if you are lost.
- I do not reccomend trying to cross a river in a six wheeler or anything other than a boat. Avoid canoes if possible, as they are easily tipped. Bring a life jacket!
- If you have a long walk to your stand, put your outer layers of clothing(sweat shirts, heavy shirts)on after you get to your stand and have dried off.
- Haul your garbage out of da' woods! Leave it cleaner than you found it.
