3.15.09 - Some updates to the site -- there's a new contact email address, drunkboyrecords@gmail.com.
Also, the discography has been updated with three Satanists in Love releases, including the official release of The Church of An Assumption.
We're also working with Internet Archive to store a lot of our shit now. Go there and search Waking Up Corky or Warm [f]{Ph}ilters and find lots of stuff.
Last thing -- head on over to Eel Tree Records to see the latest stuff Waking Up Corky has been cranking out.
12.8.08 - Self-Parody's "The Serious Hour" is available in its entirety for free: http://www.last.fm/music/Self-Parody/The+Serious+Hour
Sir Weeze's "I Win" is available in its entirety for free: http://www.last.fm/music/Sir+Weeze/I+Win
DISCLAIMER: In order to listen, you'd need to sign up for a last.fm account, but DO NOT LET THAT DISCOURAGE YOU, as last.fm is entirely free with very low aggrevation and hassle. Take that from someone who has the attention span of a coked up Robin Williams.
10.11.08 - So as the years have passed and as the Interthing has subsequently matured, many websites have finally adopted the Drunk Boy Records philosophy: FREE is GOOD. As a result, we're outsourcing to websites like last.fm and YouTube. Currently, I'm uploading a lot of Drunk Boy shit to last.fm in an effort to bludgeon more unexpecting onlookers in the face with our noise. I'm not uploading everything; certain things will always be available by request, but we're going to limit the last.fm account to some extent, lest we wear out our welcome. I will indiscriminately plaster this website and many others with the last.fm link once it's ready to go.
So how does YouTube work into the equation? With, get this... VIDEOS. Videos of all kinds. The GZeus and The Sir Weeze have made a couple lyric parodies that are available for viewing as you read this. Also, an effort will be made to create more videos for Sir Weeze songs (Mega Man 2 is being currently in the process of creation), Waking Up Corky songs (made by Rahb himself), Satanists in Love pieces, Warm Phfphfpfhifjpiodjfilters albums, among other things. A Drunk Boy Records channel will be created eventually, and the link will be slathered on every corner of the Interthing. So, thanks Interthing. Thanks for adopting the DRUNK BOY WAY. It's about fucking time.
3.29.08 - Yes that's right, we're still alive. Here's some things happening:
▪We really need to update the discography section. I'll do that after I talk to GZeus and Rahb.
▪If you want a copy of Sir Weeze's "Chemically Balanced", email sirweeze@yahoo.com. In the meantime, check out "Internet Superhero" and "The Mars Volta" on the Sir Weeze myspace.
▪Satanists in Love have been doing a lot of shows lately, 100% of them happening at Big V's, which is near the corner of Snelling and University in St. Paul. We have another one on Monday, April 14th. Doors are at 9pm, $5.
▪Self-Parody is about to start recording a new album (like, this week), and eventually trying to form a band to play live around town. So far, this is the tracklist:
Learning How to Sleep
Let's Get Nervous
The Good Karma Club
You Can't Get Here Fast Enough
Same Old Girl
Sunlight
▪Violet Violence Violently Orange is recording a new EP very soon, courtesy of the wonderfully inspiring Minnesota winter, titled "Minnesota Dogshit Snowfields". Tracklist is:
Ugly Humans
Soup
Cum
The End of the World
▪Remarkably, Waking Up Corky is never NOT recording, so you can always visit there and find something new.
▪I'll try and be better about updating this. I went nuts at Banana Republic the other week, mostly because my face has become so sharp that it keeps tearing all the sweaters and turtlenecks I try and put on. Actually, I've been purposefully sharpening my face these days, so I have an excuse to buy more clothes. Don't tell anyone.
This is John Norris reporting for Drunk Boy Records.
6.19.06 - I could've swore I just updated this a while ago but I guess it didn't save or something. Anyway, we have Big Updates:
-There's a new band/project on Drunk Boy called Butch Vigg and the Compressors! Their first album We Hate You All Year is set to be released June 20th, 2006, which is THIS TUESDAY. What do they sound like? Think Satanists in Love, but way more punk, way more shrill, way less schmoozy and sleazy, way more HATEFUL. There will be samples around soon.
-Hey speaking of SaILo, they almost have THEIR album finished, Church of the Assumption, which is really vintage Satanists in Love. Samples of that will be around too.
-Lastly, Self-Parody's The Serious Hour has nine tracks just about finished entirely, out of ten written. That means, after about four years in the making, it's finally almost finished. You can hear some of the finished songs at the Self-Parody myspace. The album will be finished before July, for sure, and then hopefully an ACTUAL BAND will come together to play the songs and DO SHOWS and stuff. That would be nice, wouldn't it?
-Oh yeah, go visit Waking Up Corky's myspace for some neat stuff.
3.19.06 - More stuff for the sake of stuff:
-Yes, the two new Violet Violence Violently Orange EPs, Crack Bones and Flish, are out, so get them, or don't.
-Final recording is gonna happen pretty soon on the Self Parody stuff (Better mics, nicer tapes, digital multi-tracking = eh, good enough). Here's an estimated tracklist:
Reset
No Recycling
Left Half
Dead-on
Eczematic
Humor Me
It Was a Setup
Don't Worry, It's Irony
Any Day Now
Passive/Aggressive
3.4.06 - Hooray! Longest possible time before more February! Here's some stuff:
-March 14th has been set as the release date of TWO new EPs from Violet Violence Violently Orange, one titled Flish and one titled Crack Bones. Email sirweeze@yahoo.com if you want either.
-Warm Fphfphfphfilters are still working on a release date for their EP.
2.1.06 - Some stuff:
-Self-Parody has 10 songs written for an album titled The Serious Hour. This will be out this summer at the very latest.
-Satanists in Love will be doing stuff soon, called Church of the Assumption.
-Waking Up Corky is still recording.
-Sir Weeze would like to release another album pretty soon.
-Violet Violence Violently Orange has two EPs coming out in the spring, one called Flish, which is all one track, and one called Crack Bones, which has four tracks, titled "Cancel the Internet", "Crack Bones", "Guys in Suits", and "Smack Bones".
-Warm Phfphfphfphfilters has an EP coming out soon too, like, within the next few weeks.
12.29.05 - There's been a photos section added to the website, which has some old pictures of random crap that conveniently has something to do with Drunk Boy Records. More will be added as the weeks go by.
12.20.05 - Some stuff:
-Self-Parody has 8 songs written for an album yet to be titled, will be recorded once a reel-to-reel and something to power the mics we have are obtained. Really crappy demos have been recorded thus far.
-Satanists in Love still exists.
-Waking Up Corky is recording right now.
-Sir Weeze would really like to do a summer tour across the Midwest this coming summer. No, really.
9.30.05 - Details of the Fake Tool Song Fiasco are available at Sir Weeze's rarely updated livejournal. The gist: someone had the idea of advertising The 81st Chakra of Annihilation as "the new Tool single that leaked." He also went ahead and created a myspace for it, and it got something like 6000+ plays in about a week. It also managed to really offend most of the resident deluded Toolfans in their chatrooms, so needless to say, it went very well, until myspace got all assholeish and banned the account entirely.
More Sir Weeze songs are now available at the soundclick thing, so check them out, or don't. The rest of the album should probably be finished this weekend. If you want it, ask. How do you ask? Email sirweeze@yahoo.com, or just leave a comment on the above livejournal link.
9.12.05 - Discography and artists sections are updated to reflect newer releases, and two new Sir Weeze songs are up at the soundclick thing. They're both pretty self-explanatory. Enjoy!
9.9.05 - Hi I'm John Norris, and my face is seth in sex suplex. Okay, so three days is about two weeks for Expunged, but it'll be done by Tuesday, September 13th. So yeah.
Also: Sir Weeze is splitting up into two entities. Sir Weeze will remain as the outlet for goofy video game songs and stuff about fat guys outta control, and the new name for the "serious" more musically focused stuff is Self Parody. .....okay, maybe that's not a new name, but it's all in the spirit of needlessly confusing people. Anyway, the new Sir Weeze album will be out VERY soon, maybe before the end of the month, and its called I Win. So, GET 23948239 COPIES. As far as Self Parody goes, hopefully that will be done by the end of the year. Six songs are written pretty much front to back, and we're just waiting on new equipment to show up to start recording that junk.
8.31.05 - Temporary delay in the shipment of Expunged because of the artwork. Oh well, it should only be about three days or so.
8.9.05 - Two new samples are up in the "Previews" section for the upcoming Warm {F}[ph]ilters release, Expunged, due out August 30th.
7.30.05 - Hi this is John Norris and my face still exists. Since I'm halfway in the habit of looking at this site again, here's what's coming later this year from Drunk Boy, in convenient list form:
- A gigantic Warm {f}[Ph]ilters album, several years in the making (much like its predecessor), titled Expunged. Very noisy, scary, paralyzing, atmospheric, and even funny at times. Preview to soon be available.
- A double Sir Weeze album with no title yet, although one disc will be all comedic stuff and one disc is more focused musically and more of a progression from Self Parody with more post-punk influence. Working titles from the comedic disc: "James Hetfield and Rob Zombie Sing Mary Had a Little Lamb", "The No-Chance-In-Hell Game", "Non-Descript", "Street Fighter Alpha Zero 3000 Rainbow Surprise Dragon Miracle Sleeper Part 9 the Sequel vs SNK", and "Oblique Earthly Stillbirth Crucifix".
- Recording on a new Satanists in Love album will start soon, and I forgot what they said it'd be called.
- New group called Wellstones! currently writing songs for a studio album entitled Landfall probably to be recorded once our studio gets some better equipment. Said to be post-punk-ish, and DEAD sounding. Think... well... Deadsy.
- One (possibly two) EP from Violet Violence Violently Orange to be titled Flish. Acoustic guitars, very non-digital sounding, very Current 93-Nurse with Wound inspired. Coming later in the fall, preview to be up soon.
- And finally, something we're insanely excited about: a TV series (well.. Flash cartoon series, I guess) under the Drunk Boy Productions handle. No title yet, but the premise involves the story of someone's brain. Scripts for episodes are being written and episodes will be made available once we get a friggin domain and some space on the internet.
-That's all. Ta!
7.26.05 - We need to get this place the HELL off of .cjb and off Angelfire. Anyone who can give us some ideas for some relatively cheap domain thing packaged with a few gigs of server space online would be nice. And since its the news section, and since I do this once in a while, here's some stuff you should listen to because its hilarious, awesome, or both: Mu "Out Of Breach (Manchester's Revenge)", Theory of Ruin "Frontline Posterchild", Satanic Janitors "Best of", Legendary Pink Dots "Any Day Now".
7.25.05 - The site now has a cheaper, crappier look, and a new logo. Plus, I accidentally deleted the links to the forums. So yeah.
4.13.05 - More Free downloads, more selection. Check out that discography, I know you want to too.
10.19.04 - Free downloads are back! So far I have up Satanists in Love and Sir Weeze. Others to come later.
7.27.04 - The new V3O album Most Frequently Asked Questions About Big Round Fund is out NOW. GET IT, OR DON'T.
7.10.04 - New Previews on the main page. Also: coinciding with the new SaILo album is the Friendly Dreaming/50%: Smyth Double EP, available NOW. One EP is left over tracks from the Trick Photography sessions and the other is part of the first show after its release. Ask for it by name!
6.22.04 - New Satanists in Love album is out NOW! Trick Photography! Order it now you fucks! Email sirweeze@yahoo.com to get a copy! Special packaging! Ooooohhhh!
6.19.04 - Oh yeah, new links section on the main page.
6.19.04 - Okay, so the new Satanists in Love, Trick Photography, is set to be released on Tuesday, June 22nd. Ask for it by name! It was TWO YEARS AGO when the first SaILo album came out, and that blows my mind for some reason. Needless to say, Trick Photography is much "better", with slightly more dynamic, and more laughs.
There's also going to be a SaILo show at Big V's in St. Paul on University and Snelling on August 15th. With PEOPLE! Tell your friends!
That Sir Weeze **1/2 album will be out one of these days, whenever I have enough free time to finish it, I guess.
Other burning questions:
What is Tyghtan doing?
I have no idea, go find out for yourself.
How is John Norris still alive?
I don't think he is, I think his body is made of some odd preservatives that are keeping his body somewhat free of any odors to prevent anyone from knowing he's a corpse.
What else is coming out?
I'm so glad you asked! Once Drunk Boy Records is able to upgrade its studio equipment (all that's really left to get is a new mixer and an Audix D3 mic), then recording will start on the next Sir Weeze double album. V3O has an album coming out July 27th called Most Frequently Asked Questions About Big Round Fund. Waking Up Corky has a million things coming out on a pretty regular basis, but you're better off going to their website and getting info that way. Warm {F}[Ph]ilters will have a new album out later this year, maybe, if the tape has decayed enough.
Oh and one last thing: go get Secret Chiefs 3 "Book of Horizons", because Trey could use the money, so he can make more cool stuff like that.
4.16.04 - It's the monthly update. New Satanists in Love album Trick Photography is done except for one track, so once that's done, it's done, and it can be YOURS, complete with special packaging, in the Bibles of Jack Daniels, among many other arrangements, and long run-on sentences. In completely unrelated news, Kevin Shields' solo stuff isn't very good at all.
3.10.04 - Well I guess I should update this, or something. A lot of stuff is being worked on, even more stuff is being talked about, but not a lot is actually being finished. So what else is new? Well, the next Satanists in Love album is actually nearing completion, and that can be said without hyperbole! Trick Photography is the title, complete with no tricks and zero photography, but with two discs and a TON of tracks, coming to a stage show near you. That Signal Seven Lounge Compliation will probably be released as an EP sometime in the future. Violet Violence Violently Orange Most Frequently Asked Questions About Big Round Fund is in the middle of recording and will probably be out later this year. Sir Weeze has actually gotten SO self-indulgent and SO pretentious that he's doing a double-album, one disc full of comedic stuff (yaaaay!) and one disc full of more musically committed stuff (booooo!), with a working title A Tree is a Tree is a Tree, and there's a very slight chance that could be finished this year, but we'd need a new mixer with phantom power to get any RECORDING progress done on THAT. As for Tyghtan, I don't know what they're up to, so you'd better visit their website. The endless amount of all other projects that've been kicked around in the past can be viewed by scrolling down and looking at the other junk here. So here are some other albums we whole-heartedly recommend to make up for the non-activity here! Can "Future Days", Suicide's first album, the Liars' new album, Cocteau Twins "Treasure", Boards of Canada "Music Has the Right to Children", and the Cars Greatest Hits!
11.22.03 - The discography is finally updated and half-way organized. New projects: Headlopper (solo GZeus thing involving tons of samples), Essential Eddie Money (one of those collaboration dealies between Rahb, GZeus and Sir Weeze where one of us starts with something, and we pass it to another person and let them fuck with it, and so on), Lawn Destroyer (GZeus and Sir Weeze covering entire albums using very primitive instruments), and hopefully a DVD from Tyghtan. By the way, the picture on the main page of Gog: Warrior and Horse, was actually faxed to the credit department of my work, and no one knows why.
9.11.03 - This is coming just a TAD late, but big thanks to Tyghtan for coming out here to do the inaugural Drunk Boy Records festival. The festival also produced the first ever Sir Weeze show, as the songs Slipknut, Blades of Steel, Fat Guy Outta Control and Contra Level 2 were performed, sans band, but with much help from GZeus. Also performing were Waking Up Corky with THEIR first ever show, Warm [Ph]{F}ilters, and of course Satanists in Love. Tyghtan easily stole the show (considering they were the only four piece band with a drummer there) and played a fantastic set. BIG UPS!
Also, sorry about the big delay on sending out CDs, I'm sort of moving, and all my stuff is spread out in a 50 mile radius, so yee haw.
Coming soon from Drunk Boy: more Waking Up Corky, a Sir Weeze compilation of covers and unreleased tracks titled **1/2, a new Satanists in Love album titled Trick Photography, and some solo stuff from The GZeus called Headlopper.
Oh, and BIG UPS to Molly Touchdown for buying all that useless junk from cafepress.com! THANKS!
8.3.03 - Oh yeah, there's a merchandise section on the main page now. Order a Mingised Biers Stein!
8.1.03 - This is addressed to anyone who's expecting any CDs from us: printing problems are delaying the shipping of anything, because GOD I fucking HATE Kinko's. The WSP location only has one Mac and it doesn't have an up to date version of Illustrator (the PCs at any Kinko's location do not have any graphics programs, of course), the Eagan location is being remodeled so apparantly it doesn't have any color printers working, and the Woodbury location is filled with bumblefucks that don't know how to fix the connection between a computer and a printer. SO, the moral of the story, as always, is: you're much better off doing everything yourself, because things ACTUALLY get done without many hitches. ANYWAY, people can expect their shipments sometime next week. Oh yeah, before I forget, there's ANOTHER Waking Up Corky album on the way, thus making it like four releases in about a month and a half. "His best yet, caught me off guard," goes The GZeus.
7.23.03 - The new album from Tyghtan, titled Audiocaust, is NOW AVAILABLE. (Hey, its the label's first band with a real drummer!) There is some funny funny stuff on this album (particularly "Baby I'm Cool" and a cover of n'Sync's "Drive Myself Crazy"), and a surprising variety of songs and styles from a punk band, and yes, they rock. Just email sirweeze@yahoo.com and it's yours.
ALSO, there's another Waking Up Corky EP on the way titled Big Heads, which is a tribute to retards the world over.
7.4.03 - We hope you have a happy fourth of July, but of course we could care less about your fifth or sixth or even the SEVENTH of July. Anyway, Rahb Swanlund is back with tons of new stuff with his new project, Waking Up Corky. Two releases are available NOW, the first called Erosion and the second called Corrosion. This is GOOD STUFF, folks, probably Rahb's best. Definately worth checking out.
ALSO, some SURPRISING developments. The punk band Tyghtan apparantly tenatively agreed to release some stuff for Drunk Boy Records! Prepare your face to be aurally assaulted by rock-ness. More on this as it happens, obviously. AND, groundwork is being laid for a new Satanists in Love album, as well as new stuff from Sir Weeze and V3O. How EXCITING.
5.22.03 - Warm {F}[Ph]ilters' SeeG is set to be released on Tuesday, May 26th. The last couple Satanists in Love shows have gone very well (with Warm {F}[Ph]ilters opening), and we'd like to thank the cop for showing up at the Saturday show. In other news, the Dinkle Nuts have been executed, courtesy of gunwounds in the face. Coming up for Drunk Boy Records: Waking Up Corky, which is a new project from Rahb Swanlund, Lawn Destroyer, and new Satanists in Love. Possibly new Sir Weeze and V3O at the end of the year.
3.13.03 - This is KIND OF delayed, but thanks to everyone for sitting through our (Satanists in Love) set at Indytron, special thanks to Noiseman433 for inviting us and Smedley for giving us a ride to the grocery store afterwards. New SIL studio material on the way? Who knows! Oh, and the Dinkle Nuts album is due out any day now, because they're lazy and British.
1.05.03 - New stuff on the site in case you haven't noticed: forums, and an order form to make it easier to request something from Drunk Boy Records. Links are on the main page, brainiac. Coming soon: merchandise! Yee haw!
Also, thanks to everyone for the feedback on all the new releases.
12.17.02 - Tons of new stuff is available beginning today. Sir Weeze Self Parody, Violet Violence Violently Orange Health Food Crisis, and Signal Seven Best Of are all finally completely 100% finished, yippiehooray. Whoever requested any of those three albums will get theirs in the mail probably sometime next week, maybe later considering how insanely busy the mail service has been because of the whole Christmas thing. Eventually, all three will be available at mp3.com, but since it takes FOREVER for them to post stuff, it probably won't be up for another couple weeks. But, some stuff HAS been posted at mp3.com/v3o so you can hear what some of the new Violet Violence Violently Orange sounds like, or you can check out mp3.com/signalseven, which has some of the stuff that's included on their Best Of album.
Also, the five minute Satanists in Love show (Satanists in Labor were the opener) went very well last night, and is ALSO available RIGHT NOW.
Things to come in 2003: Warm (F)[Ph]ilters (a big experimentation project with The GZeus and The Sir Weeze, two discs), the Dinkle Nuts (acoustic ballads, currently slightly delayed due to visa trouble from the guys coming over from England), Lawn Destroyer (experimental covers of Depeche Mode and New Order albums, among some singles including Tools of the Trade by Carcass, as done by The GZeus and Sir Weeze), Signal Seven Lounge Compilation (narrated and written by Rahb Swanlund, music by The GZeus and Sir Weeze), maybe some Empty Korpse (acoustic death metal project being tossed around by The GZeus and Sir Weeze), and a new Satanists in Love album and a possible TOUR of the midwestern United States!!
12.12.02 - Attention: the first single off of Self Parody titled "Backup Plan" is now available on mp3.com. Download it, or don't!
12.6.02 - The discography section has been updated with album descriptions and tracklists. The rants section was taken down because it was ridiculously dated. Forgot to say CONGRATS to Mike and Annette on getting married. Oh, and this month's IWMPLTTJBIA: Flaming Lips "Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots", Sigur Ros "( )", Duran Duran "Rio", and the music to Castlevania: Circle of the Moon for GBA.
11.30.02 - John Norris here now sporting a $75 vest from Old Navy and a $2 haircut from Cost Cutters. December is going to be a huge month for Drunk Boy Records, with four new releases coming up. On December 3rd, Satanists in Love's Halloween Show 2002 comes out, which is, you guessed it, the live Halloween show they played at a mall in Roseville at 2am. On December 17th, FINALLY the new Sir Weeze album comes out, titled Self Parody, and the new (and closely related, depending on your perspective) Violet Violence Violently Orange album titled Health Food Crisis will be available. Last and most certainly not least, The Best of Signal Seven, Rahb Swanlund's old band, will be released on December 17th as well. If you would like to recieve a copy of any of these albums, email Drunk Boy Records at sirweeze@yahoo.com
10.21.02 - John Norris here at 6:43am, still wearing my $135 dollar sweater from Banana Republic, because I'm bound to get what I paid for eventually. Sir Weeze's Self Parody is getting really close to being finished. Six tracks are done and they are titled:
Backup Plan
A Prepared Statement
Pseudo-Epiphany
Self Parody
Barring Any Last Minute Change
watch mE Be an ArTiSt
Three other songs are written/in the writing process and not recorded yet. It's said that this album is much "happier" sounding and "much less murky and dark". Sorry, no Nintendo song this time, and not as much comedy stuff on this one either. All of the songs are also pretty short. HOORAY.
9.19.02 - John Norris here with some exciting news! After 15 years of floating around the industry, bouncing off of label after label, the Dinkle Nuts have finally found a home in Drunk Boy Records! In case you DIDN'T know, Gregg Williamsberg and Lincoln Kay are the two members of the Dinkle Nuts, from Sheffield, England. Matt Pinfield has declared this occasion to be "amazing". Look for their first album in 3 years, Smell of the Greasy Facial Hair to be released before the end of the year.
9.9.02 - Hello I'm John Norris and this is my $135 dollar sweater from Banana Republic. Once again, Sir Weeze shoves me out of the way (while touching my $135 dollar sweater from Banana Republic) so he can say stuff himself (but he isn't wearing a $135 sweater from Banana Republic): Computer problems have once again resurfaced and I'm back to reformatting seemingly every week. After I get my comp working again, expect shloads of new material. "Why do you bother with this? Because it makes you feel IMPORTANT, right?" Oh yeah, I feel REAL important talking to no one about a bunch of crap that I make while making fun of John Norris. Rest assured, this news section exists ultimately to make fun of news sections the world over. Anyway, I saw Toolahawk on the 4th and it was entertaining. Surreal seeing Mike Patton on the same stage as Tool, even if he was just in his own world, fucking around. I also saw Cirque du Soleil on the 8th (the Alegria show) and that was PHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEnominal. I can't say enough how much I loved that show. If Alegria or any other shows from Cirque du Soleil are near you, do yourself a favor and GO, it really IS worth the money. I even bought the soundtrack while I was there. With that said, this month's IWMPLTTJBIA includes that, as well as Opeth "Blackwater Park", and Pop Will Eat Itself "This is the Day, This is the Hour, This is This!"
8.12.02 - Reporting from the mid-life crisis self help group headquarters is John Norris, I'll turn it over to the Sir Weeze himself for this report:
New V3O album, Health Food Crisis, nearing completion. New Sir Weeze album, Self Parody, has a ways to go. The debut album of Warm [Ph](F)ilters, nearing completion. First and only Deeism album, titled Deeism, finished, download a track on the main page, right click save target as. "What is THAT?!" It's what I think of Deicide, and what I'd love to do to all music I really don't like, to make it 10x more fun and more interesting for me. "But why?" Because it's my label and I can do what I want, really. So why not do anything and everything imaginable? Wanna record something and release it on Drunk Boy Records? Doesn't matter if its music, sounds, talking, or whatever. Email sirweeze@yahoo.com. You won't make any money from anything, because Drunk Boy Records isn't out for profit. It's just a big umbrella to keep everything under, to keep everything organized. Yes, everything you see in the discography or hear on the mp3.com sites is free, just email that address you saw up there and ask for whichever you see in the discography that you would want to listen to. Whoops, I got way off track there. This month's IWMPLTTJBIA: Bjrk "Vespertine", Bjrk "Homogenic", Helmet "Betty".
7.23.02 - Huzzah for Satanists in Love! Even Sasha from KMFDM and Buzz Osbourne of Melvins own copies of the new album, Lesbian Breakfast. Coming soon from Drunk Boy Records: Satanists in Labor, releasing three song single, with a cover of Duran Duran's "Rio", as well as albums from Empty Korpse, an acoustic death metal band, the Dinkle Nuts, Sir Weeze and V3O! Huzzah! Also, after ENDLESS computer problems, this thing is finally running at full speed again after about 3 months worth of stupid crap, reinstalling, reformating, and exploding hard drives. Good lord, does it get any more annoying than the new Subway commercial? This month's IWMPLTTJBIA (I Wish More People Listened To This Just Because Its Awesome): Helmet "Meantime", Carcass "Necrotisism", the Boredoms "Chocolate Synthesizer", and Melvins "Hostile Ambient Takeover".
6.3.02 - Hi I'm John Norris, and lets do this in Super-Convenient List Form!
1) Another project has sprung up overnight, literally. Satanists in Love, consisting of GZeus Qryst on guitar, Sir Weeze on vocals, and permenant guest musician Agent Orange on banging on miscellaneous crap. The general idea of this band is very simple: "we're not here to make something positive, we're here to make something negative. We're also here to ruin your evening. But remember, the most important thing is that you don't forget how to fuck the ghost." You can hear for yourself at mp3.com/satanistsinlove, where somehow, they've already gotten more than 200 plays. Their debut album, Lesbian Breakfast, with more than 80 tracks totaling 53 minutes including the smash hit "I Love Pants", will be available on June 11th, from Sir Weeze Productions.
2) The next Sir Weeze album, Self Parody, will also be completed sometime during the summer, with co-producer and Helpful Hint provider GZeus Qryst. Some tracks that are near completion are "Watch ME be An ArTiSt", "Back-up Plan", "A Pack of Baseball Cards", and "Self Parody". In the meantime, you can also download old crap or just look for it on WinMX or Audiogalaxy.
3) Violent Violence Violently Orange is also finishing a new album, to be released this summer probably around the same time the Sir Weeze album is finished. Tracks so far include "Not a Tasty Spielberg, Spielberg", "Cum", and "The First Pair of Shoes".
4) Yes, this web page will be replaced sometime this year with sirweeze.com, and it'll be all nice and fancified and you can download crap from there instead of mp3.com, OKAY?!
5) This month's "I wish more people listened to this, just because its awesome" CD picks: Estradasphere "Buck Fever", Melvins "Houdini", Secret Chiefs 3 "Book M", Pixies "Surfer Rosa".
