Chapter #4
this time, got past. The meadow didn’t provide very good cover, but he had to work with something, didn’t he?
“Where have you been? I’ve been waiting all afternoon for you!” Zelda said. She looked a little bit....full. It must have been dinner, Link thought to himself. Zelda suddenly burped. I guess it was dinner, Link chuckled to himself. “Well, your guards somehow got me and threw me back out. I waited until dark, and now yours truly is standing right here!” Link said, cockily and without knowing a pair of prying eyes were watching him. “Yes, hum,” Zelda said. “That’s like the third time you’ve done that do me today,” Link said. “The reason I ordered you over here is because-” “Ordered me? Ordered me? No, no, no! I could have gone fishing! I am the master of my own life!” Link replied, more than sure of himself, and even more cockily. Zelda looked at him, strangely, perhaps a bit too coldly. “Okay, we need to figure out how to beat this Crainion. He’s got Ganondorf with him, but who’s that other guy?” she asked. Link smiled and thought to himself. “Well, we know one thing: he’s one of Crainion’s henchmen!” he said. “Well, we certainly know that, but who is he?” Zelda asked. “Well, uh, we don’t know that yet. But I think I know how to beat him. And it’s going to involve Malon,” Link said, getting a crafty look on his face. The man who was watching them got a look on his face too.
Malon whistled to herself as she brushed Epona’s hair. She smiled as she watched the moon. It was so white, and so beautiful, and she loved to watch it through her bedroom window at night. But tonight was different. The ranch was having an inspection tomorrow, and they needed to get all the animals ready, as well as the farm. Suddenly she heard galloping hooves. “Are they here already? Couldn’t they wait until the morning?” she asked herself. But then she saw dark storm clouds starting to gather. “Oh no! It can’t be raining!” she cried. But no rain came. The dark clouds gathered, and wind started to whip around the farm. The pounding of hooves got closer and closer. She looked around. Suddenly Ganondorf wheeled in from her right side, the nameless man came on her from the left, and Crainion advanced from the center. “Well, it looks like we’ve discovered your little game,” Crainion said, in a slow, mocking, manner. “W-what game?” Malon stuttered. “Don’t play dumb with me. We heard Link talking about having a plan that involved you in it. We’re going to stop that plan,” Crainion said, suddenly breaking into cruel laughter. Malon gasped. Ganondorf inched toward her. He then lunged for her, but then a gleaming sword shot in front of him. Ganondorf’s eyes widened when he saw himself flying toward it. He barreled into it. Link grabbed Malon and dived into a shed. Crainion roared and sent a huge fireball into it. Luckily, Link saw an opening in the burning shack and pulled Malon out. Activating his Anubis Armor, he motioned for Malon to run. “You think that can stop me?” Crainion asked. Link held his ground. Crainion started charging up a magic ball. “You can’t stop me, boy. You know that,” he said. Link held firm. The ball grew bigger and brighter. “I’m warning you....” Crainion muttered. He was about to throw it when suddenly six beams of light flew into his back. Ganondorf and the other looked at him. Crainion reeled back. Link stepped forward cautiously. “Hey! Hey! The farm’s burning!” Ruto yelled, the first Sage to reveal herself. “Then get it out!” Darunia yelled, in no mood for complaints. Ruto glared. Crainion suddenly unleashed a huge flame. It started to grow higher, and higher, and higher, and then it started to expand outwards. “Oh crap,” Link muttered. Malon moved up by him. “What are we going to do?” she asked, clearly terrified. “Get the Sages and go jump in a lake. ZELDA!!!!!” his mood again. “Man, it’s the mood swing man! Wonder what’s up with him......”
