Chapter #1
A year has passed since the legendary Link put that last crushing blow on
Ganon, the Great King of Evil. Link has put the strong sense of battles into
the back of his head. And to his surprise, not a soul, except him and Zelda
knew anything about the tragedy that took place, only a year ago.
With every passing day, Link continues to train; for he knows that
Ganondorf will soon return. Even though they cast him into a never-ending
portal. Somehow Ganon keeps returning, and every time he does, Link has to
become stronger just to keep a good defense.
Since the day that it all ended, Link had gotten close to Zelda, however
he didn't want a relationship with her; even though she was obviously a very
attractive. But Link wanted to know everything about the Triforce; how it
worked, why it worked, and how he could use The Triforce of Courage to his
advantage. So, he had to stay close to Zelda.
Link had, however, found someone that he could spend some time with. To
Link, she was the most beautiful girl in all of Hyrule. Her eyes were as
blue as the ocean, and sparkled of diamonds. Her name was like a harp being
played continuously with a sweet melody. For he could set there and listen
to her calm voice for hours.
Her name was Malon. She had taught him how to train Epona, his horse.
Even after Link had tamed his horse, he had acted like he didn't know how,
just to spend some time with her.
But Link knew, or thought he knew, that she had known his feelings
towards her from the beginning. Which made his excuse just a tad bit lame.
He would still take that chance. Even if it meant humiliating himself in
front of Hyrule.
However, Link needed to leave for his daily lessons at Hyrule Castle with
Princess Zelda. Which meant leaving the Kokiri Forest and traveling across
Hyrule Field. But he had Epona so it wouldn't take him such a long time to
get there. And after he had finished, maybe he would stop by on Lon Lon
Ranch to see Malon. Maybe he would tell her how he felt.
That would take courage, and he had a lot of that. Maybe he could use
the Triforce and try to bend her mind into liking him. No, that would be
wrong, and unfair.
So Link set out to his voyage to the castle.
Meanwhile, at Hyrule Castle, Zelda uses the Triforce of Wisdom to try and
read the writing of the ancient people of Hyrule. She couldn't. She needed
the Book of Mudora, the book that could translate anything. But, Link had
the book, and she would have to wait and have him bring it for their next
lesson.
She had liked Link, but only as a friend. She was so grateful for all
the work Link had done to save Hyrule. For that, she owed him a life debt.
But she loved him like a brother. And he always was truthful, except for
that lucky girl at Lon Lon Ranch.
"He should be here within the next few minutes," Zelda said to herself.
Suddenly a tremendous shaking, somewhat of an earthquake, began to shake
Hyrule Castle. An earthquake didn't occur very often. But it did happen.
"Princess Zelda, you must leave the castle immediately," one of the
servants shouted, taking her arm and pulling her from her bedroom.
There were servants running around chaotically. Things were being tossed
to the ground and glasses were shattering. People ran from the market to
Hyrule Field. The drawbridge rattled from feet pounding down upon it.
People screamed in terror as Princess Zelda ran from the castle.
Children clung to their mothers; with the fathers staring out in horror.
Zelda's bright blue eyes stared at the castle as pieces of it fell apart.
The gate tumbled into the stream that flows beneath the recently tipped
drawbridge. Centuries of work crumbled as people ran further into the field.
Zelda raised her right fist towards the field. The golden Triforce
symbol glowed and shot across the field.
"Zelda's in trouble," Link said as his hand suddenly glowed a brilliant
golden Triforce symbol, "Epona, we must hurry."
The horse raced towards the castle with fierce strength. The hooves
hitting the ground sounded as if thunder was pounding from a fierce storm.
As Link came within eye range of Hyrule Castle, he saw a crown of Hylians
standing away from the castle. Yet, one of them stood out from the rest of
them. It was Zelda. She had her right hand raised in the air. From what he
saw, she looked frightened.
Link rode up to her and stared out at the crowd. "What's going on here?"
"It was an earthquake Link. People may still be in the castle." She
cried aloud pointing to the crashed drawbridge.
"Let me check, " Link said, pulling out the Lens of Truth, "Well, I see a
few..."
"What? What is it Link?" Zelda said coming beside Epona.
"I'm not sure," Link said as he climbed down from his horse. "But it
looks like a handprint."
"A what?" Zelda asked, taking away the Lend of Truth. "You're right.
What could have put it there?"
"I have no clue. But somehow, I feel Ganondorf is behind this." Link
stated matter-of-factly.
"But you killed him remember ... wha..." Zelda slowly spoke as her
finger pointed towards the sky.
"Looks like a storm to me, " Link said, brushing his hair out from in
front of his eyes.
"Looks like a fight to me, " Zelda said with a whisper.
