The Encounter- Chapter three

By Mallard

“I don’t know. Aaron brought her in. I’m not sure...” I said. “Aaron? Who’s Aaron?” said Nabooru. “He’s one of the outsiders who landed in Hyrule Field. He is kind of cute!” I said. “Does this mean you don’t like Link?” said Ruto. Though she was frowning, I could see that she had a twinkle in her eye. “KIND of cute, Ruto! So back off!” Just then a familiar but quiet voice rang out through the chamber. “No. He’s mine. And you can’t stop that. I know he loves me and nothing can change that.” We all knew that voice. “Zelda! You’re alive!” we all said. “Yes. Now, what was this about? Saria in love with that boy who shot me?” she said. “What? Someone shot you? Who was it?” we were all worried, even me. Aaron had shot Zelda? I had thought he had rescued Zelda from....no! What if he was a servant of Ganon, or worse, Ganon himself? What if he was trying to trick one of the Sages into loving him as his changed self, and then making the sage dark? It would be catastrophic for Hyrule! If the Sages were turned dark, then the Hero of Times quest would be a lot harder, even impossible! Hyrule would easily fall to the Sages magic! I was about to present my idea to the rest of them. They had been interrogating Zelda for a couple of minutes now about the “shooting” when she toppled over. “She wasn’t doing very well anyway!” said Nabooru. “I don’t know about her condition. I don’t think that we’ll have a Seventh Sage in a day or two!” said Impa, obviously near tears. Just then Zelda said something. “I....I don’t.....think....that.....Aaron.......is Ganon’s.......servant.........reveal......to........him.............” “Reveal to him what?” Nabooru muttered. “Let’s get her to the best Hylian doctor that we can! Maybe he can help where magic doesn’t!” said Darunia. They rushed her to the castle doctor, who happened to be the best one in Hyrule. His diagnosis: “She’s somehow formed a protective barrier around her brain. Nothing can get out or in, unless it’s very powerful. This can be bad or good, and in this case, it’s the worst thing she could possibly do. Now what was her name? I’ll need it so I can call a gravedigger. Someone like Dampe!” said the doctor. “Oh yeah. It’s Zelda. Princess Zelda.” said Impa. “Wh-wh-what? The princess? In a coma? I-I’m so sorry. And you must be Impa, the Sage of Shadow! But how come you couldn’t help her with your magic? Oh well, that’s all right. I thought you had bigger ears than most Hylians. Pardon the comment.” said the doctor. “Of course! But if you’re thinking about giving up on her, YOU’RE AN IDIOT!!!!! If you are going to give up on the princess of your country, then I can assure you, that you will go down in history, millennia from now, as the doctor who gave up on his patient, the most important patient in history! Princess Zelda, for your sake! I also remember when an incompetent doctor made my mother lose her life! For all I know, it could of been you, you little lowlife! I have my friends here now to show you what will happen if she dies!” We stepped forward. “This is what the littlest member of our group can do.” said Impa. I stepped forward, closed my eyes and focused on the field beyond. “Watch carefully.” said Impa. Suddenly a rather big explosion, as we could see, rocked Lon Lon Ranch. I saw the doctors eyes widen in fear. “Now this is what Darunia can do.” Darunia walked forward, accidently crushing some stretchers in the process. I saw something he had never done before. He raised his hand and the doctor suddenly started choking. And he kept on choking. And choking. We looked at Darunia. There was something about him...that wasn’t right. “Stop, Darunia.” said Impa. “Stop! Darunia, STOP!!!” “No. I will not. For I am not Darunia. I am Ganon. And this pitiful Hylian shall die! This is just a beginning, for I shall rule all Hyrule! And this time, Link won’t be coming back! Ahhahahahha!” and then whatever had control of Darunia left him and Darunia was himself again. But the doctor had, um, died. “That blasted Ganon! He somehow took control of me and.....what happened to the doctor?” said Darunia. We all pointed. Darunia saw him and then he started crying. We all crowded around him, telling him how he didn’t do it, Ganon did and all that. But then he said something that Hyrule cannot know, for if they did, they would wonder if the Sages really had power. I will not repeat it.

I was just walking along. Life in the forest was beginning to get back to normal after that adventure in the alternate Hyrule. Very scary. I was glad to get back to the real Princess Zelda. The alternate Zelda was nice, but she was too much of a flirt and she was a lot darker than you would think. I love Zelda. A lot. But I’m sure you know that, don’t you? Suddenly Aaron bounded by me. “Hey, did you hear about the girl who got injured at the castle? She’s in a coma right now! They don’t expect her to live.” he said. That got me out of my thinking mode. “Who was it?!” I said. “Oh, I think...gosh, I don’t know what her name is! Well, I’ll think about it and tell you in the morning! Actually, it’s getting pretty dark so we had better hit the sack! Good night!” he said. “Good night!” I said. I went home and fell asleep. Next morning, you can bet your boots that I was over there at his house knocking! Well, it was the outsiders house(They had built a shelter from their ship) but we hadn’t seen the rest for a couple of days now. “All right, all right, I’m coming!” Aaron opened the door. “Link! Come on in! I know her name! It’s Zelda! So, there you go! I hope that isn’t your girlfriend or-well, who am I kidding? You don’t have one!” said Aaron. I flashed back to what he had said yesterday. “They don’t expect her to live.” That was too much. I ran out and started pacing around. The next thing I knew I heard Aaron’s voice ring out. “Link! It’s ten, for the love of pete!” he said. “No. I’m doing this for the love of Zelda.” I replied. “Here, let me walk with you. You know, I, uh, never knew my parents.” said Aaron. “Really? I never knew mine either!” I said. “Well, then! we’re both orphans!” he said. “I know you’re going to find it hard, but I shot Zelda. If it’s any consolation, I didn’t want to kill her. I only wanted to stun her and ask her some questions.” “What?! YOU shot Zelda?!!!! You-you evil person! You’re Ganon, aren’t you? You’re trying to eliminate Zelda, and then me! And then you can get the Triforce! What cunning! But not enough!” I said. Of course, Aaron didn’t know what I was talking about. But what was worse was I didn’t know I was being controlled by Ganon.

I didn’t know that within hours of getting thrown into the dungeon we would be out, but I didn’t know that we would be half-starved and half-dead on a field. But I, Lannod Wahes, would not give up. The others called me crazy, loony, delirious, but I didn’t give up. I remembered the milk from the ranch, and then we drank it and we were instantly energized. As we came to the forest, we saw Aaron. There he was! And we had been worrying about him all night! But something was wrong. Link was attacking Aaron! Then Jardi pointed. “Look! What’s that? It’s some sort of piggish creature! Aim your phasers, and I don’t care what type they are! FIRE!” he yelled. “Rousing speech.” said Ashley as her Phaser III ripped the air. But the creature laughed maniacally and effortlessly reflected our shots with his magic shield. One of those shots could hurt someone terribly but he didn’t even flinch. We had to dive for cover when a shot hurtled back and blew the spot where I was firing to bits. The creature then disappeared into the air. “Who was that?” said Arno. Well, apparently Link had stopped trying to slash Aaron and even appeared a bit sorry. At least that was what it looked like when we helped him off the ground. But we were shocked when he said something weird. “Hi guys! What happened to you, Aaron? Were you in a fight?” said Link. “Yeah! With you! You almost chopped me to bits! Last time I’m telling you anything about Zelda!” muttered Aaron. “Zelda? How is she?” “Well, for starters, she’s in a coma, she isn’t expected to live, and-hey! You know all this! This guy has amnesia!” said Aaron. “No, he doesn’t. It’s merely a spell cast by Ganon.” said an unknown voice. Suddenly a beam of light shot from nowhere and froze Link. We spun around, ready to protect our friend. But it was only Saria. “Darunia, the Sage of Fire, was taken control of today by Ganon.” said Saria, after a brief explanation of who the Sages were. “Ganon is the creature you fought tonight. He is the leading cause of evil in Hyrule. He has placed Link under a spell that erases memory for a short time. I don’t know what he intends to do, but it must be for some evil reason. Link cannot hear what we are saying right now. I did not want Link to hear this or there might have been, let us say, complications.” said Saria. “You know more than this, don’t you?” said Jardi. “Yes, I do. Princess Zelda, the Seventh Sage, is in a coma. She might not live.” said Saria. “In case you’re wondering about Link, the spell is only short-term. He will be back to his old self in a couple of days. Meeting adjourned.” said Saria. Jardi remarked “She would be good for Starfleet! How would you like to be under her, huh? Heh heh heh!” I would like that, I said. “Oh, and one more thing. Aaron shot Zelda.” she said. All eyes shot towards Aaron. “Uhhhhh, I, um, wanted to ask her some questions?”
