The Encounter- Chapter eleven

By Mallard

“Evacuate!” I screamed. “An army of ten thousand is headed this way! Pack your belongings and leave for Kakariko Village!” Panic started in the town. Men yelled, women scurried around, trying to find their children, and the children cried and ran around searching for their family. I turned around. An attack squad of Wolfos had gotten in. I quickly moved to the attack. They saw me and turned for the kill. One of their first objectives was to kill me, I knew. I got slashed a lot, but I managed to get them. I wanted to get to Zelda, but I had to stay with my people. I fought off monsters that got in, most of them Moblins. There were a couple Hylian Guards that helped me to fight off the monsters. Seeing that the villagers were safe, I hurried to the castle. I ran up to the vine and climbed it yet again. I crawled down the ladder because there seemed to be extra guards and then I managed to make it without being seen across the field. Once I got into the moat I swam over to the ledge and I had planned to crawl into the drainpipe, but I then remembered I wasn’t ten. I saw a window. Time for the trusty old hookshot. This was going to bring guards running, but sorry, Ganon is attacking, so look out! Moments later I was running through the castle corridors searching for Zelda. I don’t know why I was being so quiet, all the guards knew me! I managed to get to her tower. I ran up the steps. I pounded on her door. “Who is it?” Zelda called. “It’s me, your very nice boyfriend who loves you!” I said. She opened the door. “You dummy!” she giggled. She was in a very pretty nightgown but this was no time for that! “Get something on, we’re going against Ganon’s forces, it’s war!” I said. She scurried to her wardrobe and came back wearing a dress that was reserved for special occasions like New Years Eve and birthdays. “Let’s go.” she said in a sad tone. Another confrontation with Ganon would come, and Hyrule was once again at stake.

“Okay, let’s hope there aren’t a bunch of ReDead coming! Other than those things, I’m sure you can handle it!” I wasn’t much for pep talks but what can I say? There were eleven thousand soldiers there, ready to go to war. “It must be very fulfilling to have all those soldiers at your command.” said a soldier who was in command of all the guards. “No, it isn’t. I cannot stop thinking about all the fine young men who will die tonight. My heart and prayers are with them.” I said. Zelda, she suddenly screamed out “Here come the heroes!!” A man yelled what Zelda had just said and soon the whole army was shouting “HERE COME THE HEROES!!!! HERE COME THE HEROES!!!” Suddenly I was aware of four shapes by us. “Well, howdy!” cried a familiar voice. “Same goes!” the other three said. “That was stealthy!” I laughed, in spite of the tension. “Go get ‘em!” I yelled and the soldiers went streaming to fight! Unfortunately a really big ball of light appeared. About a hundred Wolfos and Moblins stood there. We prepared for the fight of our life.
