The Encounter- Chapter seven

By Mallard

“Oh, man! This beats anything back home! Honestly!” I said. We were in the Temple of Time, and I was having the “time” of my life. (hee hee...) “You humans, you just don’t have technology! We, on the other hand, have it mastered!” bragged Zelda. “Now hold on here, we humans have technology down pat, we just do it differently!” I said. “Humans have tradition too, you know! If you think anything else, then you grossly misunderstand the human race!” “Fine, Aaron!” said Link. “Let’s just do this crazy thing and-” “Yes! It is a crazy thing and I won’t have any part of it!” yelled Zelda. “Zelda! Why are you acting like this?!” said an angry Link. “Now give me the Ocarina!” “N-n-no! I won’t!” stuttered Zelda. “But why not?” said Link. “Because I will never give it to you, Ganon!” shouted Zelda. “What? Now, Zelda! That’s stupid!” laughed Link. “Okay, now who do you think is the real one?” said a voice that sounded exactly like Link. The figure ran up to us and jumped in front of Zelda. “Oh, shoot! There’s two of them!” I gasped. Two Links stood with us. “Well, Zelda, what are you waiting for? Come on!” said Link Number One. “Are you kidding me? Don’t listen to him, pick me!” said the Link who had just come in. “Aaron, what should I do?” said Zelda. She looked at me with these sad eyes, and then we were transported to this place, this beautiful place. “Zelda, where are we?” I asked in wonder. “This is the Field of Eternity, Aaron. Link does not yet know about this place. Not one person in Hyrule does. Only the Sages know about this place. I doubt that I would if I weren’t a Sage. Let me explain. Thousands of years ago, after the Goddesses created Hyrule, they went to the place where time does not exist, the Field of Eternity. This was their home, their place of refuge. It is still.” Little did we know that Din, Farore, and Nayru were watching.

“Oh, the sweet buds of love! Those two are in love, I tell you!” “Din, what would you know about love?” said Nayru. “I’m the Goddess of Wisdom, you know!” “Always proclaiming your wisdom, Nayru! You need to let your hair down!” said Farore. “I don’t because-” “All right, what are we going to do about that kid?” asked Din. “We could visit them!” said Farore. “Risky. No person in Hyrule has ever seen us!” countered Nayru. “We could disguise ourselves!” said Farore. “I like it!” said Din. “Oh, all right! You girls win. Besides, I think I really DO need an adventure! Let’s do it!” The Goddesses sped off to Hyrule.
