I groaned in pain. What hit me? One moment I’m fighting Ganon, the next moment I’m-what was that on my chest? Something I didn’t want on there, that’s for sure! Where was Zelda? Where was anyone? I was in some room with a whole bunch of instruments. This wasn’t funny. I tried to yell, but the only thing I could get out was a faint gasp. Then some guy tried to poke around my chest with some sharp thing that I couldn’t make out because I couldn’t really see. “This guy is in bad condition!” one of the doctors said. I could vouch for that. I can’t remember anything after that.
“Zelda! You know you’re not supposed to be out that late! If you are going to be a princess, you shouldn’t be out at dusk!” said Father. “I don’t care!” I retorted. “Go to your room!” shouted my father. “Guards! Get this lowlife of a boy who tried to kill my daughter!” Aaron zipped out of there in a hurry! I walked up the stairs to my room. I sat down on my bed and sighed. Aaron wasn’t a bad person, it’s just that he didn’t exactly know the normal Hylian customs. I decided to walk over to Impa’s room. “Why hello, Zelda! What brings you here?” said Impa. “Oh, it’s just that Daddy is a little bit unfair with Aaron. I like him, you know, not as much as Link but he’s a pretty nice guy and you know, it’s just that the Triforce of Wisdom, it gives off pretty strong feelings when I’m around him. Would there be any prophecies in any book, anywhere?” I wondered. “Well, I’m not positive, but there might be some books in the library downstairs. Let’s go look!” Impa said. So for two days we pondered every book, even the Book of Mudora, until we found something. “I’ve got it! It’s a prophecy about....well, let’s just read it!” said Impa, and we began reading. “When the evil comes rising, eight shall turn it back; the circle of seven and the hero of all; Forest, Fire, Water, Shadow, Spirit, Light, and Leader of the call, the seven shall return, and the hero go alone. Forest of the girl, Fire from the Goron, Water from the falls, Shadow of the dead, Spirit of the sands and the Princess of the land, seven make the circle and the hero at their head. Forces on the mountain shall find the Harp of Gold, played to wake the Watchers, guardians of the world. Power from the Phoenix, lost beneath the sea, they will defeat the evil at last, with the silver in the trees.” That was what it said. But there was more on the next page.
“On the eve of the dead when the year does die, must the chosen one open the oldest hills, there fire shall fly from the hero’s boy, and the Sages shall have the Harp of Gold. By the pleasant lake the Sleepers lie, on Hylia Way where the crows call, though grim shadows from Ganon will fall, the singing of the harp will bid them ride. When light from the Lost Woods shall burn, Six Watchers will ride, Seven Sages shall return. And where the midsummer tree grows tall by Dragmire’s sword the evil shall fall.” “Zelda, I think you have your prophecies.” said Impa. I honestly thought I was going to die from the stress.
I thought about what the prophecies had said. “The Circle of Seven” must mean the Sages. But the Sleepers? And a harp? And a Phoenix? This was too much! I had to get Link! For the next few days I did my royal duties, had a couple of meetings with the Sages, did everything that a princess would be expected to. I went crazy. Literally. I went, no, fled to that doctor’s office in the Market, with intent to save Link. It was early morning when I got there. I went to the doctor and he said Link was all right, he could talk and everything but he was on crutches and probably would be for the rest of his life. Link stepped out. I gasped. He was a, well, walking bruise. He was covered on his arm, chest, anywhere except his face. “Zel.......I can’t go on. Just leave me, to die.” said Link. He fell into my arms. The doctor said that he would be like this for the rest of his life, just reliving the experience over and over again until he would just go and die. I gritted my teeth and ran out the door with Link stumbling around behind me. I had been in a coma and Link was going insane, and it had all started when those guys had crashed here. I could feel that evil feeling within me, welling up, eating at me. I pushed it out of my mind and hurried on.
