FIFTY--AND COUNTING
GIVING THANKS

At a recent Steering Team meeting, it was brought to our attintion by church historian, Paul Larson, that Eddie Cockran, the rock and roll legend, was confirmed here in our Methodist Church class of 1952. Interesting fact of our church's history. Another interesting fact of our history is that the year 2007 will mark FIFTY YEARS since we Methodists moved from the downtown church and into our new building out here on the west end of town! I think it's time to celebrate and give thanks for the special people, events, programs and ministries we remember as significant and having an impact for Christ over this half century!

ON THE FRONT LAWN AT UMCAL!

2007 will be our FIFTIETH ANNIVERSARY YEAR of ministry here in our location at 702 Highway 69 South. We have our Minnesota Bishop Sally Dyck coming to preach on a special Sunday in September. She'll help us celebrate our past and look to our future!

You can help with the celebration by writing or e-mailing to me the significant EVENTS, PEOPLE, MINISTRIES, PROGRAMS etc that you especially remember that have happened since our move to our present church location. Write a brief account and include the year or approximate date of occurrence. With the information you share, we can create a "WALL OF WONDER" celebrating the wonderful things God has done amount us and through our church these past 50 years.
