"HustonArts logo (:27) - As in the music that plays over a studio's logo at the beginning of a movie. This is probably the orchestral work I'm most proud of so far. Still needs some work, but the gist of it is here.

"Casual Christian (v.2.2, 04/19/06)" (1:47) - (ver. notes: repanned instruments to more accurately mimic the typical orchestra seating, remixed a little, sorry no cymbals or other percussion yet - my midi wasn't working tonight) -- for violins, trumpet, horns, flute, percussion, tuba, bassoon, and clarinet. This is an arrangement (semi-abrupt intro, clipped by about a measure and a half) of this Contemporary Christian classic by DeGarmo & Key that I did years ago on my little QY300, now seeing how I can get it to sound on my new rig. There's still a lot of work to do on it, but thought I'd put up tonight's progress to give you the idea.
INSTRUMENTS: Peter Siedlaczek's Complete Classical Collection (fka Advanced Orchestra).

"Going Up" (1:48) - A piano mood-piece I wrote for a project my brother asked me to do circa 2003. Imagine a Charlie Brown feel but a bit more subdued and reflective. Too much trouble with my GigaSampler at the time prevented me from getting him the music he needed, so the project (for me) fell through and he went with stock music, and this was as far as I got with this particular theme.
INSTRUMENTS: NemeSys 1GB Grand.

"Berryhill Overture - highlights" (:50) - Here are the two clips (below) edited together.

"Horn Soliloquy" (:30) - for French Horn, Violins, Cymbal, and Triangle. Another short, completely raw experimental piece which is essentially the product of me still trying to just get the equipment to work together. You'll notice I still haven't figured out how to pan the instruments to one speaker or the other -- everything is in the middle. The biggest thing to notice is the quality of the instruments. Once I get reverb and the mixing technicalities sorted, you should be able to tell I'll have something that actually sounds like an orchestra.
INSTRUMENTS: Peter Siedlaczek's Complete Classical Collection (fka Advanced Orchestra).

"Berryhill Overture - intro" (:20) - the mixing is horrendous, the reverb out of whack, the instruments clumsy and limited, the arrangement as rough as it gets, the performances sloppy, but I finally got my GigaStudio to work and rushed my very first experiment together for you, my very dedicated listeners, to show you the dimmest shadow of where I'm headed. I trust you'll agree that, as unwieldy as the "end" product is, it is more promising than anything else I've had so far. Let me know what you think. And thanks for listening!
INSTRUMENTS: SAM Trumpets, SAM Timpani, Miroslav Vitous Flute (Mini).

(Following track done on the Yamaha Motif ES6 with stock sounds.)

"String Lullaby" - a rough idea for small ensemble including strings, oboe, and trumpet.

(Following tracks done on the Yamaha QY300.)

"Last Light" - quiet, pensive jazz ... with a french horn?

"Gonna Fly" - no, not a version of the "Rocky" theme, an upbeat, snappy jazz piece.

"Strike Force" - title taken from the 80's TV show; a ripping synth track that is aptly named....Imagine a guns 'n' explosions chase scene from Alias.

"Santa Hop" - a slightly funky but surprisingly holiday flavor.

"Fly Catcher" - more laid back, funkier, synth groove.
