The Gift That Keeps Giving

[SunnyHunny, aka
Christine, is a sports enthusiast. As in dune-buggying,
motor sports, demo derbys, snowmobile racing and drag
racing. On the other hand, she is also an advocate for
missing children!--ck]
I would like to introduce our readers to Christine. She
lives in Minnesota with her fiancee, Wayne, and her
seven-year-old son David. Her introduction to WebTV, and
her interests are both varied and fascinating. Last
Christmas, her friend purchased a new GMC Sonoma. As a
bonus, the dealership gave her a WebTV unit and a wireless
keyboard. Since she already had a computer, she gave the
unit to Christine. From that moment on, Christine says,
she was hooked!
She praises WebTV for being so easy to use. It has been a
wonderful outlet for her inquiring mind. She soon
discovered her favorite chat room....home-improve, where
she met a group of wonderful people who have become very
special friends. As she likes to point out...WebTV opened
a whole new world for her. She tells us that the first
e-mail she received with graphics so impressed her that
she just had to learn this new way for creative
expression.... and Draac was just what the Doctor
ordered.
She started a HTML diary and slowly learned the basics.
The alt.discuss.html
newsgroup was also helpful and offered more
inspiration for Chris leading to the next logical
step....Her very own Homepage. So, armed with her notepads and diary, she
began what has become a labor of love. She has done an
outstanding job on it, and it is a "must see" for our
readers. Only 3 weeks old, her homepage has received over
700 hits and won 9 awards. This is not something that
every homepage builder can boast, so Chris deserves our
"Congratulations."
Christine's hobbies are traveling, dune-buggying, motor
sports, demo-derbys, reading, tropical fish, gardening,
interior decorating morning coffee with friends, music, a
night out with the girls....and, of course, WebTV. Some of
the very good suggestions she has for improvements of our
units include additional folders, a clear cache option, a
pop-up to identify who sent a new e-mail, and caller ID so
we can choose to accept a phone call or not. (Are you
paying attention, Mr. Gates?)
Her fiancee introduced her to snowmobile racing... buying
her a '91 Polaris XC 440 for her birthday...and it has
become a passion for her. She loved the thrill of cruising
the lakes with the throttle wide open and the following
year, she started straight-line drag racing. She
recommends this sport as a fine way for families to get
into the healthy outdoors and have fun together. With the
winter clothing available, it is comfortable and a good
way to spend quality time.
She and Wayne also teamed up with two World championship
teams...Competition Sports Equipment and Swift Racing in
Stanchfield, Minnesota....Chris placed in the top 3 of
every race in her class that year. Last spring they
received sponsorship from Artic Cat for a '99 Sno-Pro 440.
This is a limited edition racing sled available only to
professional racers.....and quite an honor to be chosen.

Chris is also interested in social issues. She wants to
become more involved with the missing children programs.
Her compassion for others and love for her own son got her
focused on that issue. (This is a lady with a heart as big
as the wide-open spaces of her home state.) I'm sure she
will be an articulate advocate for the cause!
