The South Saint Paul "Packer" Marching Band
is comprised of both junior and senior high
students from South Saint Paul
High School, St. Paul Minnesota. The band
is under
the direction of Mr.Terry Dahlgren. We
are comprised of 35
wind players, 18 percussionists,
and 9 color guard members. For the most
part, we are a very young marching band, with
the lot of the students being in 8th
or 9th grade. We heavily recruit from
the junior high, and we depend on non-band
members to fill the open spots that become
available. Our music department consists of
the following ensembles: symphonic band,
concert
band, two jazz bands, pep band and marching
band.
The South St. Paul band program is on a new
path to Excellence, Pride and Community
Spirit. We
will not only educate our students about
marching band, music, leadership skills we
will also teach them what is necessary to
become a successful high school/college
graduate.
