POCKET MONSTERS LEGENDS

Episode 1: Battle of Life
Our adventures begin in Palette City. Every two years youngsters are allowed
to receive a pocket monster license. Lance is one of the lucky people to be
receiving his license today.
Lance: I can hardly wait to get my pokemon today!
Elaine: Yeah! But couldn't you have gotten up
Earlier? I was waiting for you for an hour!
The two teens ran up to the pokemon lab.
Lance: I am here for my pokemon Professor
Lavasseur!
Prof. L: You are lucky! I only have one pokemon left!
Lance: What is it?
The professor hands Lance a pokeball. Lance anxiously opens the pokeball.
Out of the pokeball appeared a squirtle.
Squirtle: Squirtle! Squirtle, Squirtle!
Professor Lavasseur handed Lance a Pokedex and 6 pokeballs. Lance pointed the
pokedex at the pokemon.
Squirtle
Water type
Level 9
It currently knows tackle, tailwhip, and bubble.
After birth, it's back swells and hardens into a shell. Powerfully sprays
foam from it's mouth.
Lance: Cool! I think we'll be great friends, don't you?
Squirtle: Squirt-le-le-le! Squirtle!
Lance puts Squirtle in the pokeball and leaves the lab while Elaine complains
that she didn't get a pokemon.
The pair arrive at a park where other trainers are having pokemon battles.
Terrance: Go geodude!
Rana: Go pidgey!
Lance watched as the two pokemon entered the area ready to fight their
opponents.
Jason: Looks like it's a two on two battle.
Kim: It does appear that way! Oh well. Just more fun to win!
Jason: Right! Rattata go!
Kim: Go for the win Staryu!
The other two pokemon entered the area from their pokeballs. Lance pointed
his pokedex at one of the pokemon.

Level 11
Currently knows tackle.
An enigmatic Pokemon that can effortlessly regenerate any appendage it loses
in battle.
The four pokemon moved into battle.
Kim: Staryu, tackle attack!
Terrance: Geodude, tackle staryu!
Geodude dove at Staryu! Staryu dodged the tackle and did a boomarang swing
hitting geodude from behind! Geodude landed on the other side of the battle
field, blocking Rattata.
Rana: Make your move Pidgey! Use gust on Rattata while he's down!
Pidgey: Pid-gey!
Pidgey flew up above geodude and started to flap it's wings very quickly.
Rattata dodged the gust of wind and rammed pidgey out of the air.
Rana: OhNo! Pidgey return!
Terrance: Return geodude!
Terrance and Rana put their pokemon back into the pokeballs. The other two
trainers laughed at their easy win.
Kim: Yes, we won! Any more challenges?
Lance stood up and held out his pokeball.
Lance: I challenge you!
Jason: Which one of us do you want to beat you?
Lance: I'll battle you both!
Kim: Ok then. Choose your pokemon!
Lance threw his pokeball into the center of the battle field.
Lance: Squirtle, I choose you!
Squirtle got into position as Rattata and Staryu got into their battle
positions.
Kim: Staryu, tackle him!
Jason: Use quick attack Rattata!
The two pokemon jumped forward ready to attack Squirtle. Lance used his
pokedex on Rattata.

Level 11
Currently knows tackle, tailwhip, and quick attack.
Bites anything when it attacks. Small and very quick, it is a common sight in
many places.
Lance: In that case, Squirtle use tackle!
Squirtle broke out into an all out run. Rattata dodged and hit Squirtle from
behind, knocking him into one of Staryu's points.
Lance: Squirtle! No stop! Don't hurt him!
Jason: Do you give up?
Lance: I. . .
Kim: You do know that you will have to be ashamed of yourself for the rest of
your life! Right?
Lance: I. . . I give . . .
Squirtle: Squir. . .tle
Squirtle rose to his feet forcing back the pain. He turned to the enemy
pokemon and shut his eyes.
Kim: Your Squirtle has the right idea! It is better to be dead then to be
laughed at for the rest of your life!
Staryu and Rattata raced at Squirtle. One hit and he would be finished!
Every second the two pokemon got closer and closer to the end of Squirtle.
Everything else was blotted out by this scene. Suddenly, Lance jumped forward
in a sprint.
Jason: What the?
Kim: What's he doing?
Staryu and Rattata made contact! But not with Squirtle. Lance had blocked
them so they couldn't harm him.
Kim: Oh my gosh!
Jason: He wasn't supposed to do that!
The two pokemon starred at the boy, confused. Squirtle opened his eyes in a
glare.
Squirtle: SQUIRTLE!!!!!!
Squirtle opened his moth and a rush of bubbles blew Staryu backwards knocking
it into Rattata.
Rattata: RATTATAAAAAAAA!!!
Staryu: Star-yu!
The pokemon returned to their pokeballs.
Jason: We lost!?! We actually lost!?!
Kim: That's the last time I underestimate pokemon!
Squirtle ran over to Lance. Lance stood up and surveyed the area.
Lance: We won? We really won!
Lance turned to Squirtle. He kneeled down and hugged him.
Lance: Thanks Squirtle! You did a good job!
Squirtle: Squirtle!
Lance and Squirtle turned toward their opponents.
Lance: Good battle.
He extended his hand toward them. Kim hits his hand away.
Kim: Just luck! Next time you won't win!
Jason: But I don't want a next time!
Kim: Quit whining and evolve your pokemon!
Kim and Jason walked away and Squirtle returned to his pokeball.
Dustin: Hey Lance, I saw you battle! Good job!
Lance turned to see his younger brother Dustin.
Lance: Thanks!
Lance started to leave when his brother ran up to him.
Dustin: I'm coming with you!
Dustin persistently starred at Lance.
Lance: You can't come! You're not old enough!
Dustin: Mom said I could come!
Lance: Ok, but you have to keep up with me!
Lance started to run trying to lose Dustin, but Dustin followed.
