Concerned Choir Members

Alrighty. This is a page about the *cool* things that go on during choir. Where to start...

Well I guess I could give the basics about Byron's treble choir. Like I said its a treble choir. ( For those of you who don't know what that is, its a all girls choir.) Its made up of 9th and 10th graders. We *practice* every day from 10:30 to 11:20. Our director is Ms.Braun. I am an alto. YEA! Right now I sit in the back next to Melanie, Laura B and Meghan P. I am folder partners with Melanie. We are folder 68. Us altos in the back row. Since we are in the back we are like in our own world and we can't hear the choir as good as if we were in the front. So we have to find our own pitches and stuff. Its funny. Right now we are practicing our songs for the winter concert mostly. We are singing Winterwonder Land, Nino Queridro, Alleliua, All night All day, and this Stars are for those who lift their eyes song, I really hate that song, and some others that are for more like the Pops Concert like Build me Up Buttercup, One Fine Day, Till the stars fall from the sky,(that could be for either), On my Own, and stuff like that.

Next I am going to tell you about the trouble Melanie and I get in. One day right after we got moved to the back of the room I was telling Mel about how the altos should sit in the middle of the 1st sopranos and the 2nd sopranos. And I was telling her and stuff and Ms. Braun goes: I thought I told you once already girls that you do not talk when I am. Do you understand that? But she hadnt' told us that. So were like K??? And then we were singing and I was telling Melanie about what I thought about the song we were singing and she yelled at us again and asked if we wanted to leave. That was a funny day. Then like two weeks ago we were leaning in our chairs againest the wall and she pointed in a way that told us to put our chairs on the ground. We did it again and so she told the whole choir to keep their feet on the floor. So we did it again ( its a bad habit!!!) and she said: girls in the back row keep your chairs on the floor. (opps) but we did it again and she made us move to the front of the room in the front.

Next thing I find funny about choir is the notes that me and Melanie write to Ms.Braun. We give her our suggestions and sign them: Concerned Choir Members. ( thats how I got the title as you probaly already guessed.) But we have to write our notes more then once to make her get the point. I dont want to tell you our ideas because then everyone will know and it won't be funny anymore.

Alright, new story. Last week Ms.Braun decided that we didn't understand the *meaning* of the words to Stars are for those who lift their eyes. So we had to write an essay on what the words mean to us and how they affect our lives and all that. I don't want to offend anyone who thinks the assignment was worth while and all that but I didn't like the assignment. It was suppose to be a page long and mine was 3/4 of a page, double spaced. HeHe I got a point docked for it not being long enough. "If stormy clouds should hide the stars." She said that wasn't a complete sentence but Melanie and I think it is. So I got a 53/55 on mine. That was way better then I thought I would do.

We have our Christmas Concert on December 20th. And all of you in Byron should go to it. See what we have been doing for the past half year. : )

Well its been awhile since I added a story to here so I thought it was time to update it some.

Our Spring concert is coming up and the other day we had to vote for what songs we wanted to sing and all the sopranos wanted to see Angel...I wonder why! They get the melody the whole time and we have to learn complicated harmony all the time. No offense to the sopranoes but the altos would be happy if we could get the melody sometimes.

One time when Nicole was getting furstrated with Ms.Braun she decided to go get a kleenex and on her way back he feet got awful heavy and they were making lots of noise. And it was really funny but she had to stay after and put away chairs and her grade got dropped a whole letter. So I suggest not eating any food that is going to make your feet really heavy while in choir.

I will add some more funny stories of choir as they come. I hope you had fun reading about Byron's treble choir.
