The Original
Hilyars
This is information we have
collected about the first Hilyars in
America. Let us begin by saying there
are several spellings for Hilyar. The
ones we have on our little scraps of
paper are: Hilliard, Hilyard, Hillyar,
Hilyer, & Hilyar.
WILLIAM HILLIARD was born in
England in 1614. He came to Boston on
the ship 'Elizabeth Ann'. He married a
woman named HESTER (or Esther) in
October 1640 at Danbury, Mass. Their
children were baptised by the Rev. Peter
Hobart of Hingham, Mass. in June 1655.
They
were:ESTER (or
Hester) born-March 25, 1641 (?)
died-June 3, 1709. She married JOSEPH
BATES on Jan. 9, 1657 (or 1658) at
Hingham, Mass.
2nd Child
(female) born-June 7, 1644 died-Sept.
14, 1689. She married JOHN FARRER Jr.
on Aug. 14, 1664.
WILLIAM born- June 25,1655
died- Jan. 24, 1714. He married DEBORRAH
WARREN on June 12,1671.
Unfortunetly, we have about 100 years of
missing information. But that is all
the fun: Finding the missing
pieces!
