At the invitation of Jack Kemp and former Senator Robert Kasten, we recently agreed to become part of an effort to build school choice around the country.

As you can see, this principle is already supported by a broad group of concerned Americans -- such as Charlie Ward of the New York Knicks; NFL greats John Mackey, Rosey Grier, Randall Cunningham, Reggie White, and Bill Cowher; and political leaders like former congressmen Floyd Flake and Jack Kemp, and Mayors John Norquist of Milwaukee and Brett Schundler of Jersey City.

You can also be with us for a number of events around the country in 1998-99. Be with us in Chicago, Milwaukee, New York, Dallas, San Francisco, and other cities to celebrate this movement, or -- if you can't be with us -- sponsor local students, teachers, and parents from one school to be part of this unique celebration.

In the coming year, we and other NFL players will be visiting public and private schools across the country. We'll form a "huddle for choice" discussion to meet with a dozen or so serious-minded people who want to see school choice succeed -- to grow from a promising idea, backed by a few generous individuals, into an effective team to change public policy.
