Gloria, by Maurice Noah vs Glo Ria
A rework of the 80s anthem by Laura Branigan / Umberto Tozzi, re-imagined in a modern key


The original single by Umberto Tozzi was published in 1979 and acquired international fame after three years thanks to a famous English-language version by USA singer Laura Branigan. The remake lost Gloria's original romantic mood and climbet to the first position in the U.S. singles chart Cash Box. The song stayed on the Billboard Hot 100 for more than 8 months, reaching also the first spots in Australia (#1), Canada (#1), Ireland (#4), New Zealand (#6).
