5/5/00- The good news is Jordan might have a single out this summer, but - the album won't be out until around Christmas. Miguel said in the chat tonight that Jordan signed with farmclub.com (which is an online record label Sonique is one of their artists) and it is a part of Universal/Interscope. His reasoning for why Jordan's song with Mya was not on her album is that it sounded like a song Enrique Iglesias and Whitney Houston did.
5/3/00- Here is some news from JK.com " Jordan, along with uber-producer, Rodney Jerkins, will be in Atlantic City the week of May 8 to work on his new album!"
5/2/00- Jordan says (on his on the spot section of his site) that he will be working with Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, Rodney Jerkins and the Groove Brothers from London on the next album. Also, he describes the new album as "dance dance dance".
4/21/00- On the V Countdown for week of april 8th CME went down to number 7, and for the week of april 15th it was down to number 10 (remember to vote)
4/17/00- Unfortunately it looks like Jordan's duet with Mya was cut out at the last minute from Mya's CD, so it's won't be on there:(
4/13/00 - Jordan won Single of the year (for GITY) at the BMA's!
4/12/00- I looked at Jordan's official site again today and it says he'll be working with Universal Music Group which is the parent company to Interscope.
4/11/00- Well, according to Jordan's official site, Jordan will be staying with Interscope for the next album. I'm not sure why Miguel would say he is leaving, it could be Jordan was shopping for a new label and just never found one. Also the following is just rumors I found while surfing... Jordan will be doing a remake of "Water" by Martika (That singer who did "Toy Soldiers") and he will also be doing a duet with Jessica Simpson. The album release is pushed back until fall (any surprise there?, lol) Like I say that's just rumors for now.
3/31/00- Close My Eyes is #4 this week (up from #9) on the countdown on Channel V. You can vote by going to the Channel V website or my emailing them here
3/30/00- Close My Eyes is #9 (up from #18) on the countdown on Channel V in Asia!
3/23/00- Congratulations to Jordan on winning in the "Best Male Pop Album" category for the Aspire Awards. He was also nominated for "Best Male Pop Record" for ICNTTPOYM and "Best Male Dance Record" for GITY. The awards are given out on June 3rd in New York (apparently they announce the winners ahead of time for these awards) The winners page can be found here and the nominations page can be found here Sharon said last Tuesday that Jordan is taking some time off from recording and is in Puerto Rico right now. She also said he may be signing with Universal Records now.
3/10/00 (2)- I guess Mya's album has been pushed back because I heard she was on TRL today and she said the album will be out April 25 (not the 18th).
3/10/00- Mya's album called Fear of Flying will be out April 18, the duet that she and Jordan did a few months ago should be be on there. Jordan will be in London, England March 14 - 19 writing songs with the Groove Brothers.
3/9/00- "Cose my Eyes" is the "Bubblin' up video for the week" on "MTV dyes" (the countdown in the Philippians), This means its climbing up the top ten fast and it will be on that countdown next week.
2/25/00- According to Miguel, Jordan is leaving Interscope Records, and will be signing with either Sony or Jive records. The album is due out "this summer" now. Jordan will be going to England on March 15 to work with the Brian Rawling Co. (He did "My Heart is Saying Now") and then he'll return to work with Rodney Jenkins and Jam & Lewis.
2/20/00- Jordan's next album will probably be out late spring, he is still working at it now, he started on 2 songs, and has 3 or 4 written so far, but he says the process of finishing it will go quickly. He will most likely be working with Robin Thicke, Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis again (as well as the Groove Brothers, and possibly Patrick Leonard). Jordan has also hinted he may have some guest vocalist on his album. I've heard (although it may be just a rumor) Jordan is in LA right now, and is actually recording some of the album at the Belage Hotel, and is doing the mixing for the songs in a studio in Burbank, CA. I hear that hotel is where the New Kids did most of their recording for the Merry Merry X-mas album.
2/12/00- MTV Asia has been playing a video for "Close My Eyes", which was taken from a concert that Jordan did last year. Request the video at www.mtvasia.com
2/9/00- Jordan is in LA right now working on the new album. He already has 3 songs written for it. In Early March, Jordan will go to London to work with the Groove Brothers who have worked with artists such as Cher and Enrique Iglesias.
2/4/00- Good News- Jordan has been nominated for 5 Boston Music Awards! the categories are -Act of the Year, Debut Album of the Year, Single of the Year ("Give It To You"), Male Vocalist of the Year, Video of the Year ("Give It To You") If you want to read more about the awards go here
1/27/00- According to Jordan's nephew, Matthew, Jordan will be going to England in Mid-February to work on his album. I've been hearing that Mya's album will be out Feb 22, but I haven't found any official news on that.
1/21/00- That soundtrack that Jordan is going to be on (With "My Heart is Saying Now") is called "Snow Day"! It will be released on February 8 in the US, it'll also be released soon in Asia. The song will also be on Jordan's next album.
1/18/00- "Close My Eyes" hit #1 in the Philippines last week! Go Jordan!
1/16/00- On a radio station in Argentina, Jordan said he has 2 songs done for the next album already. Also I heard a rumor Jordan may be on a soundtrack with a song called "My Heart is Saying Now", but I don't know what soundtrack, or when it'll be out.
1/7/00- Jordan will be going back into the studio next week when he gets back from Argentina. No word yet on if that means he'll be working with Jam and Lewis then (I hope so). "Close My Eyes" was released in Philippines and the song was was no. 5 on WTM's (a radio station) survey the other day. (Thanks to vinkie_jk for that info) I noticed that it's still getting airplay on Power 96 in Miami as well. for the info. Unfortunately, Jordan was not nominated for a grammy this year, but I thought this was interesting - if you look at "Category 83 - Remixer of the Year, Non-Classical", one of the nominees is Soul Solution (Bobby Guy & Ernie Lake) and they remixed ICNTTPOYM and they have that song listed, so the song has some recognition:)
12/31/99- "Give it to you" was #17 on the TRL on of the year countdown, and "I could never take the place of yout man" was #81.
12/30/99- Give it to you is song #61 for 1999.
12/19/99- It looks like Mya's album with the duet with Jordan will be released in late Febuary.
11/27/99- About the Sweet 98 CD- it's only available at "Homer's" which I'm assuming is a local store there. I didn't see anything about ordering through the site.
11/19/99- I got my ICNTTPOYM cd single today and it actually has different tracks than what I listed on the last update.. it has the 1. LP version, 2. Up tempo Remix Radio Edit, 3. Soul Solutions Radio Mix (That one is on the other one as well) 4. Give it to You Club Remix, and it also includes a CD Rom on the GITY video. In other news, apparently Jordan is already recording for the next album, he recorded a song in Korea earlier this week. If you go here and click on "JK in Korea" is has an interesting story about Jordan singing "If You Go Away" (check out the pictures too). But anyway the story mentions him recording that new song there for the next album. A radio station from Omaha, NE "Sweet 98" has an interview and 2 pictures of Jordan up on their website here. The site also says that they will be releasing a CD on Nov. 26 with audio from the "Sweet Stock II" concert they had earlier this year, and Jordan will be included. I'll let you know if I hear anything on how to get the CD.
11/2/99- If you go to CD Now they have imports listed now for the UK GITY parts 1 and 2, and an import of ICNTTPOYM. The GITY part 1 includes: 1. Radio Version, 2. Red Tacones Edit, 3. Finally Founding Out (Lp), 4. Give It To You (Video CD) plus the CD Rom with pictures and the GITY video. GITY Part 2 has: 1. 10 Degrees Steelpan, 2. 10 Degrees Musique, 3. Stepchild (Radio Edit), 4. 95 South Remix (first 3 are different from the US Maxi single). For ICNTTPOYM- it doesn't have any tracks listed on the site, but I heard a cd single version includes 1. Soul Solution Ext. Vox (10:31), 2. Soul Solution Radio Edit (4:05), 3. CZR's Funk Parlor Remix (8:13), 4. Soul Solution Dub (7:48) (I'm not 100% sure that's what's included on the one listed on CD Now or not)
10/20/99- Jordan recorded a song called "Underneath the Spanish Skies" with Interscope artist Mya this past Monday. The song will be on Mya's next album! (Thanks to Nikki for the info). Check out JordanKnight.com's news to read the interesting story about how they were able to record the song while Jordan was in England and Mya was in LA.
10/13/99- Well it looks like they decided that A Different Party will be the next single... but only overseas (Interscope decided they don't want another single in the US)... but Jordan did say in his chat room last night that he hopes it will do real well on TRL and become a hit here.. So that means we have to VOTE for it a lot:) The video for ADP will be shot in LA in late Oct. Apparently they aren't going to use the ADP video that was shot in Las Vegas about a year ago. The concept of the video will be based on the movie Sweet Charity. Jordan describes it as a "complete dance video".
10/12/99- Bad news for US.. the college/club tour is no longer on:(.. However the good news is Jordan is still planning on releasing a second album maybe as early as April of 2000. He will be working with Jam and Lewis again, as well as Patrick Leonard who wrote a lot of Madonna's songs.
10/8/99- ICNTTPOYM falls to #39 on R&R this week. If anyone has any chart news from countries besides the US let me know and I'll add it to the album news page.
10/6/99- Good news.. GITY is already #5 on the UK chart! I've heard it sold out in some places too, so way to go Jordan! Jordan is in Germany this week, and did something for Euro-MTV today. He'll be featured in the following magazines: "Smash Hits" "big" and "Live and Kicking". (If anyone wants to type any of those up, that would be great).
10/4/99- Here a link where you can purchase the YM CD (With Can I come over tonight) on CD Now.
10/1/99- "Can I come over tonight" is now available in the US, but it's on the YM CD, and the song is "encrypted" which means you can only listen to it on the computer. Also the album has been released in most European countries and the song is included on that version too. ICNTTPOYM falls to #32 this week on the R & R chart, and the # of plays has dropped in the past weeks, so keep the requests to your stations and hopefully it will raise again. Vote for Jordan on the UK program "BBC's Most Wanted" here
9/25/99- Here's some UK news... the single "Give it to you" will be released on Oct 4, and it will be a cd rom too, which will include the video, a screen saver, and pictures. It will also include clips of 4 of the songs from the album, and "Finally Finding Out". The album will be out on Oct 18 (it will include the extra track "Can I come over Tonight")! In the US, ICNTTPOYM goes up to #31 in the R&R chart!
9/22/99- After 16 weeks on the billboard top 200, Jordan's album fell off the chart this week:( The GITY single is #61 on sound scan.
9/20/99- Guess what? It seems that Jordan's album was just released, but the next album is already being planned! Jordan will record it in January, 2000 and it should be released in May 2000 (Oh here we go again with the release date "promises", lol). Jordan's tour plans include Australia (November), South-East Asia, and Europe. He will be starting his US tour after Thanksgiving. The next single is still going to be "Close my Eyes", and there is a remix of ICNTTPOYM being released next week (I've heard some radio stations are already playing a remix, I'm not sure if it's the same one). ICNTTPOYM moved up to #37 this week on the R&R CHR chart. GITY has been added to UK's "Radio 1s" on September 10!
9/15/99- Numbers this week- Album 186, and GITY single- 54
9/13/99- ICNTTPOYM moved up to #39 on the R&R CHR chart. If you heard Kasey Kasem last weekend, he was number #40, so he'll be #39 this weekend.
9/8/99- Numbers this week: Album: 170, GITY single: 53
9/7/99- ICNTTPOYM is number 40 this week on the R & R CHR chart, which means is should be on Kasey Kasem's countdown either next weekend or the weekend after.
9/1/99- The album is #160 this week and the GITY single is #46 on Sound Scan. (Thanks again to Jenn for the info!)
8/29/99- ICNTTPOYM is up to #42 on the CHR top 50 charts (if it gets up to at least 40 it'll be on the Kasey Kasem countdown, so keep voting on your local radio stations... I notices that they added a TON of radio links, including overseas, to the Team JK section of J's site, it would help just to email a few of them a day to try to get more airplay)
8/25/99- Jordan's album is #128 this week and the GITY single is # 40 on sound scan.
8/23/99- I heard that Jordan's next single will be "Close My Eyes".
8/21/99- According to Miguel, Jordan will be starting his overseas tour on Sept. 24 until Nov 6, and then he'll come home and do the US college/club tour starting Nov. 18 until Jan. 8. Those solo shows will have about an hour's worth of material.
8/19/99- I hear that Jessica James's album will probably be out in a few months. The song that she and Jordan did is a slow song from what I hear. I heard that Jordan might not be doing the college club tour since he has several offers, including one from McDonalds to sponsor a tour with him headlining it. His album is up to #124 (12 weeks on the chart) and #32 (26 weeks on the chart) for the "GITY" single on Sound scan. (Thanks once again to Jenn:)
8/17/99- I don't know if this is true, but we may be hearing Jordan working with other artists in the near future... I heard (Thanks to Vicki for this info) that Jordan will be doing a duet for a new 17-year-old singer, Jessica James (You can read a little about her here). Vicki said that she believes Jordan and Robin Thicke wrote the song. No word yet on when the album will be out.
8/14/99- Good news.. According to Radio and Records "I Could Never Take the Place of Your Man" was the most added song to top 40 radio stations last week with 63 adds, and was the third most added song on the rhythmic stations! (Thanks to Jenn K for the info) Jordan will be starting his European Tour on Sept 25.
8/12/99- Jordan's album is #158 this week, and the GITY single is number 27 (on sound scan). Good news for "ICNTTPOYM" It had 18 adds to radio stations across the country last week, and 16 adds just yesterday alone (it's now on 46 stations), so things are looking good for the second single. Don't forget to keep requesting the new song on the radio and also TRL (I think it's only reached as far as #9, so we need to do better). GITY is #40 on the Australian chart this week.
8/4/99- The single for "Give it to you" has gone Platinum (1,000,000 copies sold)! I've heard that that single for "I Could Never Take the Place of Your Man" will not be released commercially, the radio stations will been getting the same version that's on the album. So far I heard that one radio station in Virginia Beach has played the second single, so hopefully others will start soon too. Don't forget that requests are very important in order to get Jordan heard. Some overseas chart updates... Jordan is #13 on the Dutch Clipparde chart and #5 (up from #28) on the Tipparde chart. His single is up to #33 this week on the Australian chart. "Give it to you" was #40 on last weeks Rick Dees countdown. The album moved up one spot to #129, and the "Give it to you" single is #23 on the sound scan chart. According to the Interscope web page, "Give it to you" is #1 on the Thailand airplay chart!!. The song has also been added to major radio networks around the world such as NRJ, Power Hit Radio, Radio Stockholm, and National Radio P3.
7/29/99- A few pieces of good news!... Jordan has been nominated for the MTV awards for the Best Dance Video! After falling off the countdown yesterday, Jordan jumped back on TRL today at #9! Jordan's album has moved back UP the charts to #130! His single for GITY has now sold 815,962 copies! The single is on the sound scan charts at #15 this week.
7/27/99- Jordan's video for "I could never take the place of your man" debuted at #10 today on TRL! Let's get him to number 1! Jordan was #40 on Kasey Kasem this week, and # 30 on Rick Dees. He moved up to #36 on the Australian chart with "Give it to you".
7/24/99- Jordan added a new song to his concert set- "Close my Eyes"! Jordan's album is #184 this week on Billboard, and #15 on the sound scan charts. (I should have the RD and KK countdown #'s tomorrow).
7/18/99- Jordan's album is #167 on the Billboard chart and the single is #13 on the sound scan chart (which is different from the billboard charts, it bases that chart on sales, and billboard bases the charts on sales and airplay, Thanks to Jennifer for that info). Give it to you is #17 on Rick Dees and #30 on Kasey Kasem this week. So far the GITY single has sold 780,000 copies. The single for Give it to you is set to be out on Sept 27 in the UK. The music video for ICNTTPOYM will debut Monday night on MTV's Making the video. Make sure to vote for in on TRL next week.
7/11/99- Jordan is number 45 this week on the Australian chart "Aria".
7/9/99- Chart update... Album- #155, Single- #50, Rick Dees- #16, Casey Kasem- #17 (if you know of more charts -especially international ones- let me know). The Australian version of Jordan's album has an extra song on it - "Can I come over tonight" (I have the lyrics on my lyrics page).
7/7/99- Jordan starts his tour with NSync today. He sent the last few days working on his video for the follow up single "ICMTTPOYM" from what I hear it takes place in a nightclub called "Fluid" in a subway and on top of a building.
7/3/99- Jordan's album has gone gold!!!... he received his gold album today at the XL106.7 concert in Orlando. Also his album is #134 this week.
6/28/99- Jordan will be shooting his new video for "Never take the Place" in Toronto on July 4-6. MTV will be there for a show they will be doing called "Shooting of a music video". MTV is also looking for a fanatic.. call 1- 877-444-4326 for more info. He is in London for the next 2 days and then is going to be in Germany for promotions. Jordan's album was #112 this past week (thanks for the email on that one)
6/27/99- I don't know where Jordan's album is on the album charts because the internet chart only lists the top 100. But his single is at #22 this week and it is #14 on Rick Dees Weekly Top 40 and #16 on Casey Kasem's countdown. Here are the peak positions (as of today, who knows maybe they'll bounce back up!) Jordan Knight Jordan Knight (album)- #29, "Give it to you" on singles chart- #10, "Give it to you" Casey Kasem- #14, "Give it to you" Rick Dees- #14.
6/17/99- Jordan's album is # 81 this week, and the single is #20. I heard that the album will probably be released in Europe on September 20. I think it is already out in Asia.
6/15/99- Ms Interscope was in Jordan's chat room today and I asked her about the album going gold, and she said that the single has gone gold, but not the album, but the album is selling fast and is on the way. She was asking us what song we'd like as the second single, and most people wanted Never Take the Place or Close My Eyes... she says Jordan likes Never Take the Place for the next single.
6/13/99- Is says in Jordan's chat room that his next single will be "I could Never Take the Place of Your Man" and he'll be shooting the video on July 4-6 in LA. Also I heard that Jordan's album went gold! I heard that in the chat room too.... so I don't know if any of this news is official or not yet.
6/12/99- Jordan album is #55 this week on the billboard charts, and the single is at #14 on the singles chart. I'm not so sure Never Take the Place will be the next single... Power 96 is already playing "Close My Eyes", and I've also heard they're looking at Broken By You for the second single... so I'll keep you updated. As far as the release of Jordan's album outside the US.. I've heard probably September for several countries... also I heard that Spain needs some more interest in it before it gets released, so call up your radio stations and write letters, do whatever you can to get it released there too..
6/3/99- Jordan's album debuts at #29 on the billboard charts this week. The single remains at # 12 for the second week in a row.
-5/26/99- Well the album finally came out yesterday, and it sounds great! If you haven't picked it up yet, I highly recommend it. There are reviews of his album in several magazines including People, Entertainment Weekly, Teen People, Spin and Newsweek. If you have any of these and can type up a review for me to add to the site that would be great!
