Inserting Glitter/Floaties Into Text

Inserting Glitter or Floaties into text is basically the same technique...just the look is different.
For this tutorial, I will be using Glitter

Step 1:
Open Paint Shop Pro, and browse your folders for the one that you keep your glitters/floaties in.
Find the name of the one that you want to use.
Step 2:
Open up the Animation Shop program

Then when in Animation Shop...go to File - Open, and browse your folders to find the one that you want to use.
Click on it, then click on OK.
Your glitter/floatie will open and paste onto the screen...showing you how many "frames" are used to make it glitter/float.
It will look like this:

Step 3:
Go up to Edit - look for "select all"...click on that.
All your frames will highlight blue.
Go up to Edit - click on "Copy"
Close out of Animation Shop for now.
Step 4:
Go back to your Paint Shop Pro program...go up to the top toolbar and click on "Edit"...then click on "Paste as animation as multiple images"
(Looks like this)

Your "frames" will paste onto your screen
(Looks like this)

Minimize each one by clicking on the litte box with the -- in it.
They will be at the bottom of your screen.
(It will look like this when you have each frame minimized)

Step 5:
Open a "New Image"...sizing it to fit your name.
If you want a transparent background..make sure you select "Transparent".
Or if that doesn't matter to you, select "White"
Step 6:
Click on your Text icon (the letter A on your side toolbar)
Your text box will open.
Find a font that the letters are "big"..and use a large text size number.
For the coloring I used a color that goes with my glitter color (the "stoke" or "foreground" color one)...and for the "background" or "fill" one, I set it to "null" (no color)
Have the "floating" button checked.
Type in your name.
(will look like this)

Click "OK"
It will paste onto your "new image" that you had made.
(looks like this)

You will need to make as many frames of this as there are frames for the glitter (in this case...three)
So...press down and hold your "shift" key and press the letter "D" two times (or if you are using a glitter or floatie that has more frames than three...you will have to press the letter "D" that many times.)
(when done, it will look like this.)

There will be "marching ants" around it..so go up to the top toolbar..click on "Selections - then click on Select None". (you will have to do this step with each image - but we'll do each one as we go.)
Step 6:
Now..go over to the right hand side of your screen and for your "foreground" color..we need to change it from a color to "pattern"
So click on the litte arrow > under "Styles"..and look for the little box that has a "texture" look to it.
Click on that.
(Looks like this)

Your "Pattern" window will open up.
Use your mouse to scroll your Patterns window to the top..there you will see your glitter patterns (it will say "image 1" - "image 2" - "image 3")
(Looks like this)

Click on the first one (image 1)...then click OK.
The Pattern window will close...and you will see your first image in the colors box.
Now go back over the the left side toolbar and click on your "Magic Wand" (it looks like a magic wand)
The click on the first letter...little "marching ants" will appear around it.
Hold down your "shift" button again...and click on each of the remaining letters (so you end up with "marching ants" around each letter.)
(Looks like this)

Go to the side toolbar again and click on the "Flood Fill" icon (it looks like a paint can)
Then click on a letter...all the letters will fill with the pattern.
(Looks like this)

Again go up to your top toolbar and click on "Selections - Select None"
Then go up to the top toolbar again and click on "File"...then "Save As"...save as a "PSP"..and name it 1 (*NOTE*..if you are using Paint Shop Pro version 9..be sure to save it as "Animation PSP")
Then close that first image (click on the little box with the X in it.)
Then you need to repeat those steps for the remaining images.
So go back and open your Patterns window and click on "image 2"
(Looks like this)

Then close your Pattern window
Go back to your text image and again click on the Magic Wand and highlight each letter (holding the "shift" key down while you do it.)
Then "Flood Fill" it..then "select none" to get rid of the "marching ants"...then "Save" this image as 2
Close this image.
Then on to the next text image......
Repeat for each letter in your name..........

Now to Animate Your Work

Again..open up the Animation Shop program.
Once in Animation Shop...go up to the top toolbar and click on "File" - then click on "Animation Wizard"
A window will open...these are the steps that need to be followed:

Then this window will appear:

Then go up to "Edit" and click on "Select All"
Then go up to "File" and click on "Save As"...and when the next window comes up..name your image.

And there you are! You're done :-)
