Swell - Everything Is Good (Beggars Banquet)

Still paying off the last of their student loan to Pavement Swell manage to find a niche alongside their heroes. While the tired drawl that slips in here and their has a large T.M. of Stephen Malkus alongside it and Spiral Stairs' younger brother has found a part-time job here as lead guitar, Swell still manage to side-step charges of cloning. Instead of the unsteady squalls of guitar and the occasional screams that mark a Pavement track Swell come across with clarity. The lyrics cut to a chase where Malkmus would obfuscate and the guitar licks still end up a good deal more wholesome. There are even trumpets.
