Justin's Guide to Good music

The Big Wu

Ok, as of right now, these guys are my favorite band in all the land. I strongly suggest you go check them out when they're in your neck 'o' the woods. Their song writing ability is second to none. They've created a strong family atmosphere around themselves, and I'm glad to say that I'm a part of it. I've now been to 23 shows (as of 8-00) which I've decided ain't too damn bad for being an underager. My favorite show as of late was the 1.8.00 show at the Cedar Cultural Center (Amazing: Music Never Stopped-->Ass Jam). This show is quickly followed by The Big Wu Family Reunion over Memorial Day weekend (5.28-30.99). Here's a picture of myself, and my good friend Phil at Pastor Tim's Campsite (I'm the one with the drum).

The atmosphere at this event was like no other I've ever seen. I never thought that people in such a large group could be so kind. The music was also wunderful from groups like: The Disco Biscuits, The David Nelson Band, Medulla Oblongatta, and Bobby Llama. Not to mention the amazing Dean McGraw, who played 2 sets with his band, then one with our own beloved wu. If anyone is interested by this point, I have the entire weekend on tape (1st Gen) the link to my list is below). This was the first time that I was ever really part of a big music event, and I'll tell you...HELL YA. A good time was had by all. I got to meet so many new people including Pastor Tim, Zebbo, Gregg Myron, Amy (well i knew her before), D. Ann, Chris German, Keriann, umm....I think that's about it. Wait!!! No, I got to meet the entire band! I was interested in what the stage looked like from " up there' So Jason took Phil and I up and backstage to chill a 'lil bit. I couldn't believe it, not only was I hangin with Jason, but also with DAVID NELSON. I mean this guy usta play with JERRY. Geez...

Enough Ramblin...not quite. Come join the Big Wu list-serve. It's fun, lots of Ranting and Raving about the wu, but no uptight assholes when we get off subject. Any and all info that you would like on the band can be found at their website. It's mainted by this guy named Pete Anderson, He's a real cool guy if you ever get to meet him. And He has a cool brother Nate too. Thanks to everyone that I've met thru the Wu. It's been a fun ride, and i'm sure the best is to come. "Happiness is being one of the Gang"
