Mommar (Moe) Szyslak, bartender at Moe's Tavern in Springfield, is without a doubt the greatest character on The Simpsons. He is by far the most surly and bitter person on the show. That's what makes him so funny! Moe is best known as the guy who receives prank phone calls from Bart, but he is so much more than that. He once blamed all tax problems on immigrants, gets burned by holy water and is forced to attend a road rage seminar. In one episode, Moe sells oysters that resemble Lucille Ball. His accomplishments include opening "Uncle Moe's Family Feedbag," "Flaming Moe's," and "Moe's Pet Shop."

Moe's voice is done by Hank Azaria, the same guy who does Apu, Wiggum and many others.

Moe's Tavern is not your ordinary bar. It has hosted everything from washer and dryer races and boxing matches to U2 and Aerosmith. The Red Hot Chilli Peppers once set foot in Moe's Tavern. The bar was "the place to be" in Springfield a couple of times. First, after Homer invented a drink which Moe called a "Flaming Moe" and also during a brief period of prohibition.
