Chapter 1
Phone calls
"Who should I invite?" Loz thought to herself.
It was her first date with Zac and they had decided on a double date.
She scanned the list of numbers thoughtfully.
Betsy and Jennie were definately out of the question. They both couldn't
stand Zac or any of his brothers.
Em or Sarah- No they're in Adelaide, she remembered.
Mel or Stacey-, No way, God she couldn't even remember why they were in
her phone book!
Carlie, Katherine or Claire- No they wouldn't enjoy themselves.
That left Jess.
Jess was basically Loz's best friend. They fought and then made up the
next day. It was surprising that they got on so well. Loz didn't like
Hanson that much, but that didn't stop her from drooling over Zac. Jess
was a die-hard Hanson fan who had basically every Hanson thing ever
made. Loz liked grunge, Jess liked pop. Loz liked red-headed guys (Zac
is an exception), Jess didn't. They fought over just about everything!
Loz dialed Jess' number knowing she probably would be out shopping or
something. After about five rings Jess answered.
"Hello"
"'lo Ssej it's Loz!" Loz said.
"Guess What!"
"What? You've got a date with Zac Hanson!"
"Close"
"I would be worried if you did cos he's going out with me tonight and
you and your Romeo are invited"
"I know, I'm going with Tay, he just rang me"
" What! I have to go on my first date with that groaning, girl!"
"L-o-o-z!"
"K, K sorry,"
"maybe you'll like him"
"least your not goin' with Ike!"
"L-o-o-zzz"
"okay, okay! see ya tonight! I've gotta get dressed"
"so do I! I'll probably ring you in tears 'cos I can't find my docs!"
" It'll be a change, since I always ring you! Hang on a sec, I've got
another call. Be right back!"
"Sure"
Loz was back in a couple of minutes
" Ya there, Look, I gotta go shopping to get my docs, that was mum who
just called me. She said we have to go pick em up. They're yellow just
like Zacs"
"It's about time you got some Loz. Okay better not keep you from getting
em"
"Bye Ssej"
"Bye Zol"

Zac was nervous. He couldn't believe Loz had said she'd go out with him.
He paced around his room looking at his watch.
"Tay, what if she decide's that I'm not good enough for her." He asked
for about the millionth time
"She won't" Tay basically groaned (What did I tell you!) "She is crazy
about you!"
"Yeah, but she is basically a year older than me, she might see this
really cute guy who sweeps her off her feet and I am left with you and
Jess for the rest of the date"
"It won't happen, Zac okay! I've gotta go and ring Jess."
"You rang her just like 10 minutes ago!" Zac yelled "I want to ring Loz
to find out how we are going to get there"
"Look, Zac, Ike's driving us okay!"
"I still wanna ring her! I wanna know if she minds if I wear my docs!"
"She won't Zac, she loves those hidious boots. She is out anyway,
picking up a pair of docs the same hidious colour as yours. I know cos
Jess told me when she rang me before telling me to ring her on her
mobile! Are you happy! Now let me use the phone and you GET LOST!"
Zac left mumbling insults under his breath at Taylor. He didn't
understand why he always wreaked Zacs fun. He also didn't want to spend
his first date with Tay. It would ruin everything!
Chapter 2
The Date
At six o'clock they all met outside the Hanson's house. They all were
very nervous and didn't say anything but "hi" for the first five
minutes, that is all except Loz. Like always she was talking non-stop.
She was as nervous as the rest of them, but didn't want to show it.
"Look, Loz, would you just shut-up!" Jess yelled at last
Loz didn't reply
"Where's Ike?" Loz asked Zac
"He's coming, he just had to go and get some drinks and stuff 'coz his
girlfriends coming over." Zac answered. "And I wish he would hurry up
too!"
Tay looked at his watch. "He's not normally this late. Let's wait
inside"
At last, 20 minutes later Ike finally turned up.
"What kept you?" Zac asked Ike angrily. "You were supposed to be here
ages ago."
"I met up with Jaqui and we were talking about tonight" Ike explained.
"You spent 30 minutes talking to Jaqui!"Zac screached "That's almost
longer than Loz and Jess spend on the phone together!"
"Okay, Okay"Loz said laughing "Let's just get a move on because we are
late enough already"
When they were in the car Jess asked Tay,
"Where are we going anyway?"
"We-e-ll…we decided that we would go to Tulsa Amusment Park."
"Cool!"Loz screamed almost making everyone go deaf.
"Shut up Loz!"everyone yelled.
"You'll make me crash if you go on with that." Ike said
"We wouldn't want to spoil your date with Jaqui now, would we"Loz teased
"What about you and Zac?" Ike retorted
"No, we would jump out in time!"Loz joked
"I give up!"Ike said
When they finally got to the park, Loz and Zac were the first to jump
out of the car and they raced to the ticket booth to pay their entries
and buy tickets for umlimited rides. They had both won a card saying
that if they paid $10.00 they got unlimted rides. They had won them in a
big prize for tying for first in an ice-cream eating competion.
"Let's go in the Gravitron first"Zac called to Loz
She agreed immediately.
"We'll just walk around a bit first"Tay said to Jess "We don't have
unlimited rides as those mean pigs wouldn't give us tickets!"
"Come on,"Loz said"We only got two each and we used the other ones
another time."
"Yeah sure, I believe you."Tay said sarcastically as he and Jess walked
away to see what they were going to do at the park.
After a few rides on different amusments, everyone was hungry. Over hot
chips they discussed what they had been doing. After a few minutes Jess
pulled Loz aside using needing to use the bathroom as an excuse to get
them alone.
"Loz, I need to get rid of Tay"She cried
"What do you mean?"Loz answered, confused
"He is well, I dunno how to say this, but he wanted me to pash on with
him right away. I'm not ready for that yet. I need to get rid of him,
NOW!"
"Just tell him"Loz said
"It's not gonna be easy, but I'll try"
The rest of the night went like a breeze. Loz and Zac got along
beautifully. This wasn't so for Tay and Jess. They fought and fought and
in the end Jess said to Tay,
"Listen Tay, we aren't getting on that well. Why don't we just leave it
here and get on with our lives, okay."
This made Tay really angry.
"You bitch!"He yelled at her. "What did you use me for?"
He was so angry, he didn't notice that Ike had turned up to pick them
all up. He had had a bad night because Jaqui had ended their
relationship.
Tay kept on yelling at her,
"You bitch, you bitch. You just used me for my money and wouldn't even
let me so much as give you a peck on the cheek."
Tay was so angry, he hit Jess really hard over the face.
"Touch her again and I'll whack you one"A deep voice said from just over
her head. Tay turned around to see Ike towering over him angrier than he
had ever seen him before.
"I am ashamed to be your brother"He said angrily. "I can't believe you
hit a girl. You can make your own way home."
Ike took the sobbing Jess by the hand and told the others to come with
him and they left the shocked Tay stranded at in the parking lot.

Chapter 3
Just Friends
At school on Monday, Loz tried to talk to Jess about Saturday night,
“Come on,” she persisted “Tell me what happened between you and Isaac
after he dropped Zac and I at my place.”
“God Loz, you have a sick mind!” Jess yelled and stormed off
“God,”Loz said. “I didn’t say nothin’” Loz said to Gina
Gina just shrugged and got on with her homework.
In History, Loz chucked Jess a note,
L: What did I do?
J: We’re just friends
L: Did say U’s weren’t. What’s your problem? I just asked about Saturday
night. Didn’t ask if u did it. God you’re so sensitive.
J: Well, I dunno. We are going out on Saturday night. It’s nothing yet,
so don’t tell anyone.
L: Would I do that? Your secret is safe w/t me. but I’m not sure ‘bout
Zac!
J: What do U mean? What does he know. U’re not gonna tell him RU?
L: No, he already knows, he told me! I just wanted 2 hear it from U!
Anyway, don’t worry, jusy everyone in Tulsa I’ll know!
J: U have to keep him quiet
L: I can’t do that, it’s Zac we’re talking about!
J: U bitch. Just tell people, we’re just friends!
L: No-one will believe that! That’s what everyone says!
J: I hate U!
L: That’s fine by me! U just figure it all out yourself!
J: SORRY!
L: That’s not gonna work this time, you’re all on your own this time
girl!
Jess didn’t have time for an answer to that one as the bell for recess
rang and Loz was off in a flash to play soccer with her friends.

Isaac was having as much trouble as Jess trying to explain to Tay that
he and Jess were ‘Just Friends’ but nothing was working.
“Gosh, were just friends” Ike groaned to Tay for about the millionth
time.
“You stole my girl!” Tay yelled at Ike, “I had her first, she’s mine…”
“…and you hit her!”Zac interupted
“SHUT UP ZAC!” Tay yelled
“NO! If I was her I would rather go out with someone who treated me
right more than someone who washed his hair three times a day, just to
look cute!”
Ike agreed, “Anyway we’re just friends.”
“No, your not! The way you were pashing on last night, I don’t think
so!”Zac said cheekily
“WHAT!”Ike yelled. “You were at Loz’s!”
“Not all the time. We went for a walk to the park on Sunday morning, and
the way you’s two were pashing on, you didn’t look like just friends.”
“You…!”Ike started but Zac was gone in a jiffy.
“WHAT??”yelled Tay at Ike.
“Well…I guess we’re a little more than just friends”Ike replied
“I HATE YOU!”yelled Tay and stormed fuming out of the room, leaving Ike
staring after him.
