Women murdered
1. Pamela Bennett, 34 Bemidji January 5, 1995
Pamela and her boyfriend, Gordon Hoagland, 38, of Bemidji, were traveling
together in Oregon when they stopped at a rest stop. Hoagland reported to
authorities that a hit-and-run driver struck Pamela at the rest stop as
she exited the restroom. She was dead upon arrival at the hospital. When
police found no evidence of an accident, Hoaglund told authorities he had
lied about the accident. He then told them they had been drinking, had a
fight and that Pamela fell beneath their travel trailer as he pulled away
from the rest area without her. Hoagland was charged with filing a false
police report, assault and harassment. The assault charges stemmed from a
witness account of seeing Hoagland strike Pamela in the parking lot. The
autopsy showed Pamela died from blunt trauma to the head, neck, chest and
abdomen. In late March Hoagland plead guilty to misdemeanor charges in her
death. He was sentenced to five months in jail for assault and filing a
false police report. 2. Pamela Kay Currie, 45 St. Francis January 14, 1995
Pamela was found stabbed to death in her home. Police were called by her
husband, Gary Currie. He reported awaking in the morning and finding his
wife dead on the bed and a knife sticking out of his own chest. He told
authorities he remained in bed for almost a whole day before calling 911
because he hoped he would die. Currie has been charged with second-degree
murder. 3. Mary Sue Oberender, 46 Watertown February 16, 1995
Mary Sue was found shot to death in her home. Her car was also missing.
Authorities discovered the car in Minneapolis and within a half hour
arrested two youths who were found hiding a mile from the car. The youths,
Mary Sue's teenage son, Christian, 14, and a friend, also 14, were arrested.
They indicated the shooting stemmed from a minor difference one of them
had with the mother. Police said the shooting appeared somewhat planned,
as if by ambush. There were no signs of a struggle. Authorities were
expected to ask that the boys be charged as adults with first-degree
murder. Mary Sue was a volunteer for Scouts and at a local elementary
school. Her husband, Lawrence Oberender, is a Watertown-Mayer school
board member. Their son, an eighthgrader, was described is a quiet boy
whose only serious problem at school was a three-day suspension last
month for an alcohol incident. His father reported speaking with his
son two days after the shooting and that his son is "very, very sorry"
and wishes the shooting had never occurred. 4. Gertrude Bestor, 86 Granger February 19, 1995
Gertrude's daughter, Susan, went to her mother's house after a signal
had been sounded by Gertrude's medical alert alarm. As she approached
the house, she saw a pickup truck speeding away and found Gertrude lying
on her bedroom floor, beaten to death. The daughter recognized the truck
as belonging to Gertrude's step-great grandson, David Brian Engle, 19, of
Cresco, Iowa. Relatives reported that Gertrude and Engle got along well.
Engle was arrested in Iowa about an hour later after police stopped him
in his pickup truck and noticed bloodstains on his clothes and hands.
They later found a bloody sock, sweatshirt and gloves. Engle was charged
with three counts of first-degree murder, three counts of first-degree
burglary, two counts of first degree criminal sexual conduct and one
count of second degree criminal sexual conduct. The weapon used to kill
Gertrude has not been found. At the time of his arrest, Engle had been
living with his grandfather on a farm in Iowa. His grandfather, Orville
Krueger, 76, died of a heart attack a few hours after Engle was arrested.
Trial is scheduled for May 1996. 5. Roxanne Waa, 30 Moorhead March 5, 1995
Roxanne was found strangled in her apartment after authorities responded
to a fire there. A neighbor reported hearing Roxanne and a man arguing
outside the apartment about 30 minutes before the fire alarm sounded.
Roxanne's car was also reported missing. Alien Davis, 44, with whom she
had a relationship, was arrested and charged. He was convicted of second-degree
murder and sentenced to 26 years in prison. Roxanne is survived by 3 small children. 6. Robin Bowman-Kitchen, 34 Minneapolis March 19, 1995
Robin left Minnesota to take a job in Greensboro, North Carolina. A former
boyfriend, Randy Balloon, followed her there and shot her 4 times, one of
the shots a fatal headwound. Robin's 13 year old daughter witnessed the
murder. Balloon had abused Robin throughout their relationship and when
she told him to leave her alone, he said if he couldn't have her, no one
would. Balloon has been charged with first degree murder. 7. Ruby Hughes, 61 Minneapolis April 10, 1995
Ruby's daughter discovered her mother's body when she came to pick up her
five-year-old daughter from an overnight visit. The child told her mother
that "Grandma is sleeping on the living room floor". The daughter immediately
called 911 and fled the home. A response team determined that Ruby was
dead, but believed they heard someone moving around the house. For three
hours police surrounded the home, evacuated neighbors and attempted to
make phone contact with anyone in the home. Finally, negotiators tossed
a phone in a window and at that time saw a man lying on a bed, apparently
dead. Police entered the house and found that Ruby's husband, Robert Hughes,
63, had killed himself. The deaths were ruled a homicide/suicide. 8. Donna Mary-Patrice Thillen, 31 Caledonia April 18, 1995
A Houston County Sheriff' s deputy found the bodies of Donna Thillen and
her ex-husband Richard Thillen, 37, after one of Donna's co-workers became
worried when she did not report to work as scheduled. Donna had once told
coworkers that if she didn't show up for work some time, to have the police
do a check. The deputy found the couple's vehicles in the driveway, the
front door unlocked and both bodies in a bed. Authorities had no doubt
the homicides were a murder-suicide, and believe Thillen shot Donna
Thillen as she slept, then shot himself. Both were wearing night clothes
and a single-shot, 12-gauge shotgun was found by Richard Thillen's side.
The couple had been divorced for four months, but were still living
together. 9. Roxanne Jackman, 27 St. Peter April 30, 1995
The bodies of Roxanne and Gregory Williams, 32, were found by one of
Roxanne's relatives in the apartment they shared. The police said Williams
apparently shot Roxanne and then turned the gun on himself. A shotgun was
found near the bodies. 10. Christa Marie Moman, 30 Blaine May 4, 1995
Christa was found in her home, dead from stab wounds. The same evening
her husband, Billy Glen Moman, 38, was arrested in St Louis, MO and
extradited to Minnesota on a charge of second-degree murder. 11. Diane Buntrock, 51 New Brighton May 4, 1995
Diane was first reported missing, along with her car. Her 18-year-old son,
Michael, was detained in Fargo, North Dakota a day later on charges of auto
theft when found with his mother's car and his 15-year-old girlfriend. The
following day Diane's body was found buried in a shallow grave in a Ham
Lake wildemess area. A grand jury indicted Michael Buntrock on a charge
of first-degree murder in the strangulation death of his mother. He
reportedly admitted to killing his mother and burying her because she
didn't like his girlfriend. He allegedly became angry when his mother
told him she was going to kick him out of her home and that he wasn't
going to be able to see his girlfriend anymore. Diane Buntrock knew the
girl's parents were filing an order-for-protection against him. He said
he strangled his mother in her bedroom with the power cord of his radio;
then put her body in the trunk of the car and drove to the site where he
buried her. The complaint against Buntrock includes information about
previous domestic violence. Diane had reportedly confided to a friend
that "I don't know what he will do to me". The mother of Buntrock's
teenage girlfriend told police that he had beaten and threatened to kill
his mother in the past. Diane reportedly told the girlfriend's mother she
was reluctant to report the violence to the police saying,"I'm so afraid,
you know, he is my son. Nothing will get done." The mother also reportedly
told police she thought Buntrock was beating her daughter, that he had
boasted of killing a man in a fit of jealousy and that he was plotting
to kidnap an infant he had fathered by another girl. In August, a jury
found Buntrock guilty of premeditated first-degree murder for strangling
his mother and the judge sentenced him to life in prison. He will serve
at least 30 years. 12. Konii Robinson, 23
Jerome Caldwell III, 22 wksMinneapolis Found May 18, 1995
When Konii and her son, Jerome Caldwell III, 22 weeks, were found dead in
their apartment, authorities believed they died in a tragic accident. They
thought Konii died of natural causes and then Jerome drowned in a bathtub.
He was found fully clothed and floating face up in the tub with his mother
nearby. But a month later, authorities determined that Konii was murdered
and ruled Jerome's death a homicide. Investigators believe Konii was hit
in the back of the head and that the assailant then left Jerome to drown
in three inches of water. Konii died from blunt-force injuries to the head
and neck. Because her son died as a result of her killing, his death was
also classified a homicide. Investigators first believed that the injuries
to the back of Konii's head may have been caused by a fall, since she had
a history of heart ailments. Konii's boyfriend, Jerome Clark (aka Jerome
Caldwell and Jamal Edwards), 22, who is the infant's father, is the suspect
in the slayings but has not been arrested or charged. He is being held on
charges of kidnapping and second-degree assault in connection with a
carjacking on June 8. He became a suspect after Konii's mother reported
that Konii "was afraid of him". He had been charged with assaulting her
in Brooklyn Park on March 25 but did not appear May 12 for a court
appearance. A warrant was then issued for his arrest, but he was not
arrested until the carjacking incident on June 8. The case remains under
investigation. 13. Susan Carol Peterson, 40 Aitkin June 5, 1995
Susan's six-year-old son, Anthony, reported that Susan and her boyfriend,
Brian David Smith, were seated on the couch and fighting. Smith had a .22
caliber rifle pointed at Susan's head and told her he would kill her if
she contacted the police. Susan then reportedly said "Go ahead!" and the
boy said he then heard two shots. Brian Smith has been charged with two
counts of second-degree murder. 14. Kim Ballandby, 34 Stillwater June 23, 1995
The bodies of Kim and her husband Randee Ballandby, 40, were found in
their car parked on a gravel country road about two miles from their home.
Ballandby had apparently strangled Kim and then committed suicide by
plunging a knife into his chest. A note believed written by Ballandby
was found in the car, but the contents were not disclosed. Investigators
said it appeared the couple had been having marital difficulties. Both
were employed as software engineers at Control Data. Three surviving
children, Rebecca, 10, Katy, 8, and Jake, 5, have been placed with
relatives. 15. Ramona Berger, 45 Minneapolis Found June 24, 1995
Ramona was found dead in her kitchen with a stab wound in her neck. The
man with whom she was living, Ramon Tony Cantu, 28, was arrested when
investigators were able to track him after finding Ramona's missing car.
He has been charged with second-degree intentional murder. 16. Anna Davidiuk, 64 Blaine July 20, 1995 Anna was found face down in a large pool of blood in her home which
she shared with her daughter and four grandsons. Her grandson, Andrew
Rozko, 19, was found sitting alone on a bench in a park near the family's
home and was arrested after telling police he bought some tools days
earlier and had thought about killing his grandmother for a long time.
According to the complaint Rozko bought a hammer and screwdriver and,
when no one else was home, used the tools to stab and beat his grandmother
to death. The complaint says he sneaked up on her in the kitchen, stabbed
her in the head with the screwdriver, hit her repeatedly in the head with
the hammer, then left the house. He then, reportedly, returned to the
house 20 minutes later, found her still breathing, then struck her in
the head again with the hammer. Neighbors reported that the family kept
to itself and that Rozko frequently yelled at his grandmother. They also
said there was an incident last fall in which Rozko tied up the family dog
with a rope and swung the dog around, then started stabbing it. Police
were summoned and had to kill the dog. Investigators said police had
responded to calls to the home in the past regarding Rozko. He was
charged with first-degree murder. 17. Marletta Kulah-Reed, 38 Minneapolis August 5, 1995
Fourteen days after her death, Marletta's boyfriend, Leo Lee Johnson, 40,
turned himself in to police and admitted strangling her during an argument
over drugs. He reported he strangled her, placed her in her bed and then
went to work. He returned later in the day with Marletta's son and called
police to report finding her body. He was charged with three counts of
manslaughter. 18. Ava Scott, 31 Minneapolis August 8, 1995
Ava's body was discovered by a jogger near a river access road. She died
from an unknown number of gunshot wounds, including at least one wound to
her neck that authorities believe was the fatal shot. Ava's boyfriend, Lee
Charles Draughn, 45, was arrested and booked on probable cause murder. 19. Theresa Reagle, 59 Rochester August 15, 1995
The bodies of Theresa and her husband, William Reagle, 60, were found by
motel employees after the two failed to check out. Theresa was apparently
shot in the head by her husband, who then took his own life. A handgun was
found in the room, and a letter, also found, said the couple decided to end
their lives because of family problems, although authorities did not provide
details of the letter. The couple were from Sioux Falls, South Dakota and had
checked into the motel a few hours before the shootings. 20. Vicky Jo Peacock, 44 Rush City August 16, 1995
A neighbor found Vicky Jo Peacock shot to death. Vicky's husband was also
found at the scene with a self-inflicted gunshot wound. He died 3 weeks
later. Law enforcement declared it a homicide-suicide. 21. Laura Clement, 33 Itasca County August 29, 1995
Laura's boyfriend, Warner Campbell, reported that he shot and killed her
in self-defense after she shot him in the leg with a rifle. Campbell is a
retired police officer from Chicago, was a heavy drinker, and often carried
a gun. Laura was shot with a .44 magnum handgun in the head, stomach and
back. She was also shot twice through the chest while lying face down on
the floor. He was charged with two counts of second-degree murder and one
count of first-degree manslaughter. 22. Ernestine Medicine Elk, 40 Minneapolis September 11, 1995
Ernestine died 3 days after leaving a battered women's shelter. Although
the death certificate did not indicate homicide, her body was severely
beaten and bruised. Law enforcement chose to not investigate further. 23. Alicia Srozinski, 29 Minneapolis September 20, 1995
Police discovered Alicia's body covered with blankets in the back of a van
after she had been missing for three days. She died from a single gunshot
wound to the head. Alicia had been seen last leaving a bar with her boyfriend,
Randy Dale Folkers, 43. He reported to police he had last seen Alicia with two
of his friends. But another man, identified only as "J.P.", reported to police
that he witnessed the shooting and helped Folkers place Alicia's body in the
van. He said the three had left the bar and gone to Folkers' garage where
Alicia said she wanted Folker and J.P. to collect money she was owed by
another person. He said Alicia told Folkers if he didn't help her, she
would tell his wife that she and Folkers were having an affair. J.P. said
he then saw Folkers take a gun from a workbench drawer and said, "Don't
worry, I'm just going to scare her." He then, allegedly, pointed the gun
at her and when she told him to go ahead and shoot, he pulled the trigger
once and the gun clicked. Then he pulled the trigger again and the gun
went off. Folkers was charged with second-degree murder. 24. Linda Rae Olson, 55 St. Paul September 29, 1995
Linda was found on her back on the floor of the kitchen in her apartment
with more than 20 stab wounds in her chest. Reynaldo Garcia, 42, led police
to the apartment after turning himself in the following night. He said the
two had argued. 15 years ago, Garcia had been convicted of fatally stabbing
his wife, Carol, in the back and chest while the couple's children were
asleep in another room. Fifteen minutes after the crime, Garcia phoned
police and said he had killed his wife. He was charged with second-degree
murder, but the charge was reduced to third-degree murder in a plea
agreement. He was sentenced to 10 years and two months in prison. 25. Marlene Mayhak, 50 Faribault October 9, 1995
The bodies of Marlene and her husband, Richard Lee Mayhak, 52, were found
on the kitchen floor of their home. Police reported that one of Marlene's
daughters had been talking with her on the phone and could hear fighting
and smashing noises in the background before the phone went dead. Marlene
was shot twice, including once in the head. Her husband's body was found
lying over his wife's body. Police are investigating this as a murder-suicide. 26. Sandra Lee Waller, 41 Meadowlands October 12, 1995
Sandra died from a gunshot wound in an ambulance on the way to a hospital.
Her boyfriend, Mark Peters, 43, called for the ambulance after the shooting.
He was arrested and charged with second degree murder and sentenced to 25 years in prison. 27. Michele Eardley, 17 Blaine November 2, 1995
The bodies of Michele and her mother, Susan Eardley, were found in their
home. Both were shot to death. Michele's former boyfriend, Dallas Lee
Thompson, 20, was arrested and charged with their murders. He had lived
with Michele and her mother until recently when Michele ended the relationship
that she had been trying to end sooner. Friends report Thompson had been violent
in the past and that Michele was afraid of what might happen if she broke up with
him. Michelle's brother had called her recently to say he feared violence from
Thompson and other friends said he had kicked, slapped and hit her. Once
a friend tried to stop an assault and he hit the friend, too. After the
arrest, police discovered a videotape of Thompson at a party about the
time of the breakup where he speaks with disgust for girls, brands women
as two-faced liars and talks about having a hit list. He boasts, "I'm
killing people tonight. There's the evidence tape." 28 Cindy Larson-Sandlin-Smith, 25 Caledonia November 26, 1995
Cynthia was reportedly strangled by her husband after an argument during
which she had asked him to have their 13 month old marriage annulled. He
then put her body in the trunk of his car, drove to St Louis, Missouri,
weighted her body and dropped it off a bridge into the Missouri River.
Smith then drove west and was arrested in Wyoming five weeks later. He has
confessed to the killing and has been charged with second degree murder. 29. Jodi Ann White, 39 Minneapolis December 25, 1995 Jodi White died December 25, early Christmas morning after an 8+ year
courageous battle with HIV/Aids. Jodi's abusive ex-husband knowingly infected her with the HIV
virus during her violent relationship with him. Not only did he infect her with the virus, he
also told her, "No one else will ever want or love you because of your being HIV+". After Jodi
obtained a protection order against her abuser, he broke into her second floor apartment and
raped her, causing additional pain and stress and ultimately affected her health by worsening
her condition. Until his incarceration for other crimes, he continually harassed Jodi, saying,
"You know I'll never let you go, you can't get rid of me that easily." Jodi coped bravely with
the emotional and physical pain this disease caused her, and courageously went forward , providing
education and awareness about domestic violence and Aids to battered women, advocates and the community.
As a testament to how Jodi valued the importance of Aids education to battered women and their children,
it was one of her wishes that her story be shared on Battered Women's Action Day. Jodi was an advocate to
battered women - an Aids educator - she was a daughter, sister and dear friend to many.
1. Lydia Healy, 4 Blaine January 13, 1995
Police officers found Lydia lying on her living room floor after her mother,
Judey Healy, reported to police that Lydia wasn't breathing. Lydia was hospitalized
for eight days before she died. Her injuries included massive swelling of the brain
caused by shaking or hitting, large black-and-blue marks on the tops of her feet,
with marks between her toes, marks on her legs all the way up to her pelvis, bruises
on her stomach and chest, a burned hand, bruises on her face, two large welts above
an eye and on her cheek, and a burn or cut on her chin. Lydia's 11-year-old brother
told police that his mother beat Lydia with a spatula and that Lydia was left sitting
in a bathtub of cold water. The next morning, neither he nor his mother were able to
wake Lydia. Judey Healy was charged with second-degree murder. 2. Geneva Broaden, 15 St. Paul March 10, 1995
Alfred Robinson, 51, the live-in companion of Geneva's mother, summoned authorities
to their home and reportedly confessed to beating Geneva. Robinson told police he
punched Geneva and kicked and stomped on her after she fell down because of a
dispute over use of the telephone. When found, Geneva was not breathing and was
transported to a medical center where she was pronounced dead. Police described
the assault as "a very vicious attack." Geneva's mother, Irene, was at work at
the time of the attack. Geneva was her only child. Robinson had lived with Irene
and Geneva for the past eight years. He has a previous record for domestic abuse
and had served 90 days for assaulting his mother in 1988. He was charged with
second-degree murder in Geneva's death. 3. Adriana Whiteside, 4 St. Paul March 11, 1995
Adriana was found stabbed inside her father's apartment. She was stabbed once,
perhaps twice, near her heart with a pocket knife and was rushed to the hospital
where she died a short time later. A 14-year-old boy, Randy Burgess, who was
baby-sitting Adriana and her infant stepsister, was seen by neighbors running
through the building, carrying Adriana and screaming, "Call 911. I stabbed a baby!"
He was arrested at the scene. Adriana's father, Benjamin Whiteside, shares the
apartment with another woman, Kim Burgess. That evening, Kim Burgess was out
with a friend and Whiteside was in and out of the apartment running errands.
Randy Burgess is Kim Burgess' cousin and babysat, as he had many times before,
for both Adriana and the infant child of Burgess and Whiteside. Randy Burgess
was reportedly a runaway from a group home in Wisconsin. He allegedly told
police he was planning to kill someone when he found himself alone with Adriana.
Adriana's mother, Angela McCormick, 21, reported, "The police said it was
premeditated--that he said he had thought it through--that he went to the
bathroom and took a towel and stuffed it in her mouth so she wouldn't scream
and then stabbed her." Randy Burgess was charged with intentional second-degree murder. 4. Jessica Turner, 8 St. Paul March 31, 1995
Jessica died after being stabbed in the chest and tumbling down a flight of stairs
in her parents' apartment. Her stepfather, Carlos De La Rosa, who had been released
from a chemical dependency center on March 24, was drinking when he allegedly stabbed
Jessica and her mother, Debbie De La Rosa. A downstairs neighbor reported hearing an
argument and at one point, in an apparent reference to Jessica, heard her mother say,
"leave her alone." When the sounds from the apartment intensified and screams were heard,
the neighbors rushed to their door, heard loud thuds and found Jessica lying face down at
the bottom of the stairs. She was curled in a fetal position and moaning. The neighbor was
unaware that Jessica was stabbed and rushed upstairs to help Debbie. He found De La Rosa
hunched over Debbie while she screamed for help. The neighbor grabbed De La Rosa away from
Debbie and the suspect fled. Debbie was bleeding profusely from a stab wound in her
midsection and other wounds on her arms and hands. Neighbors assisted Debbie into their
apartment, then discovered that Jessica was seriously hurt. She was not breathing, turning
blue and had a stab wound in the middle of her chest. She was transported to a hospital and
pronounced dead a short time later. Debbie was hospitalized and listed in fair condition with
stab wounds in her chest and abdomen. Court records show that De La Rosa had threatened and
assaulted Debbie numerous times in the past including death threats with knives. He was found
five hours after the stabbings, arrested and charged with second-degree murder and attempted second-degree murder. 5. Adrian Brasch, 3 Minneapolis April 19, 1995
Adrian died after being brutally stabbed in the head. Adrian's mother, Heather Brasch,
reported to authorities she had argued with her husband and Adrian's stepfather, Kennedy
Gisege, telling him she planned to leave him. After she lay down on the couch, Gisege allegedly
sat on top of her and stabbed her repeatedly. She escaped, was attacked again, managed to disarm
him and then fled into a bathroom, where she locked the door and finally escaped through a window.
Before she got out of the window, she heard Gisege threaten to kill himself and to "get" three-year-old
Adrian. When police arrived, they found Adrian with extensive stab wounds to his head and face with wounds
penetrating his brain. Pieces of his skull were missing and he had nearly bled to death. He remained alive
until doctors disconnected life-support systems two days later. Court records show that Gisege had previously
been charged with assault on Heather. Kennedy Gisege has been charged with first-degree murder in Adrian's death,
and attempted murder and second-degree assault in the stabbing of his wife, Heather. 6. Jerome Caldwell III, 22 wks Minneapolis Found May 18, 1995 Jerome was found in his home, fully clothed and floating face-up in the tub. His mother,
Konii Robinson, was found nearby. 7. Gabriel Zambrano-Hallmark,
15 mos.Eden Prairie August 3, 1995 Gabriel's caretaker, his mother's boyfriend, Brian Henley Gentry, 19, called 911
while he was caring for Gabriel to report he was not breathing. Paramedics found the child having difficulty
breathing and he later died under what police describe as "suspicious circumstances." Gentry was arrested and
held on probable cause second-degree manslaughter charges, awaiting autopsy results. Gabriel is survived by his
mother, Sara Hallmark, 18. 8. Michele Rosemary Plisek, 7 wks Cottage Grove August 9, 1995 Police arrived at the Plisek home after a 911 call about a baby having difficulty
breathing. They found Michelle, took her to the hospital where she went into respiratory failure and shock.
Michele was diagnosed as having multiple skull fractures as a result of blunt force trauma and injuries
consistent with shaken baby syndrome. She was placed on a life-support system and died three days later.
The medical examiner reported she died of a central nervous system injury from multiple skull fractures
caused by a forceful blow or blows to the head. Her father, James Joseph Plisek, 37, has been charged with second-degree murder. 9. Dominique Jackson, 7 mos Minneapolis August 13, 1995 After a 911 call, police found Dominique suffering from injuries to her head
and abdomen. She was transported to the hospital where she died. She had been in the care of her mother's
boyfriend, Loyd Deshawn Watkins, 24, who was arrested after telling investigators he shook the baby because
she was crying while he tried to watch television. The medical examiner concluded Dominique died of blunt
force injuries and had been severely shaken. Dominique's mother, Shanee Jackson, had left her with her
boyfriend for less than 15 minutes while she went upstairs to visit her cousin. She had recently moved
to the area to start a new life with her two children, Dominique and a two-year-old son. 10. Robert Sam, 15 mos Onamia November 1, 1995 Robert died the morning after his parents brought him to the hospital.
An autopsy showed he died of multiple blunt-force injuries to the head and abdominal area. He also
suffered multiple fractures of the legs and arms and bruises were found on his back and chest. Robert's
father, Dallas Anderson, reportedly told police he pushed the child down some steps on Oct. 31 and that
later in the day, while running to the phone, he accidentally drove his knee into the child's shoulder,
causing him to fall again. 11. Sheirra Cannon, 11 mos Minneapolis December 15, 1995 Sheirra died at North Memorial Medical Center in Robbinsdale after her mother's
boyfriend brought her in with head injuries. The man told authorities that it was an accident and that the
