WDC Throwing

This year Wadena-Deer Creek,Minnesota, is expecting big things from their throwers. They return 2 seniors, 1 junior, and 3 sophomores. Also this season we have acquired 3 new throwers to add to the list. Dylan Folkstead, Kip Johnson, and Aaron Brakefield, will add a little more push for this seasons team. Tournament outlook:
The Section Tournament went by with 2 places in the discus and one place in the shotput. Richard Klebs got over a mid-season slump and threw a 140'8 and finished with a place of 5th. Matt Lowers gave a good effort but ended with a 124'5 and didn't advance to finals. Brady Finnern advanced on to the state tournament with two second place finishes. He ended with a new pr in discus with a 163'11 and also a good shotput with 53'2. STATE TOURNAMENT RESULTS At the state tournament the competition was very tough and Brady ended with a put of 53'1/2" to place 9th overall. If he would have been throwing that amount three years ago he would've placed 3rd or 4th. The next day in discus he got a new PR and a new school record with a throw of 164'7. He accomplished this throw not only once but he threw 164'7 twice. He ended up placing 4th to accomplish his goal of placing in the state tournament. OVerall it was a very good season and WDC will have nothing but continued success in the throws. MAybe even next year there will be girls posted.

This stage goes by percentages depending upon the end of the season. Since this is the end of my track season I will go by 95% week one, 85%week two, and 75% week three, which is the week of regionals. After that you can go to about 70% to work on speed.
